Badminton needs a shot clock like tennis. Antonsen, Naraoka, this guy.. time wasting makes badminton boring to watch, and umpires won't do anything against it.

It depend how strict is the umpire, some umpire really stamp their authority (maybe overdoing at time)
@frankli24252 ай бұрын
It's pretty clear that nishimoto does this because of his stamina - not to say I condone this but it'd unlikely he does it to 'break momentum/rhythm' because he does it all the time when he's winning points as well.
@ongkimchoon7383Ай бұрын
Hahaha....since Umpire is slow in the head to act, do back the same to Nishimoto. In fact, many players on the tour, including Ladies does this once in a while.

BWF should've been making -5 points within the yellow card given. And players like these gonna be ready to play within seconds.

I would like to feature the positive aspect of the game but .....never seem LKY did this before, serving before the opponent is not ready.

I had watched that match and I didn't felt that Loh was wrong here...bcz Nishimoto as usual started delaying the game a lot and after the G2 post interval umpire refused Kenta to tie the shoe laces,having a quick towel as he was already delaying.. I think Loh was right here and after 2-3 points,he stopped doing this..this is what I saw..

Nothing with with Loh. Kenta just pretending to be unready to play. Dirty Japanese guy! Loh Kean Yew is one of the cleanest guy on the court.

I recall there were at least 2 times where Nishimoto appeared to be ready for Loh's serve yet he put up his hand at the last second to signal he was not ready. Very dirty tactics and the referee did not put a stop to it immediately.

Nishimoto has repeatedly displayed his willingness to do anything to score like serving immediately before his opponent is ready, really dishonorable player and shamefully representing the Japanese team.

I don't see anything wrong. It's fun for you to watch, you don't lose sleep for feel bad regardless of the outcome, but for them it's not just a fun match. They train days in and out for a match like this. Good sportsmanship is just a feel good kind of thing that doesn't really mean much in the grand scheme of things
@Goshuttle212 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing, I disagree with most of the point you rise. Long story short, if sport is only about winning at all cause, it has lost its meaning.

@@Goshuttle21 no problem. It's certainly an unpopular opinion. We probably have different meanings and understanding when it comes to sports. I can respect that as there is no universal definition

@@HevaNaisdey No problem too. But disagree that it is an unpopular opinion. It does lose its meaning. Imagine foreign athletes deliberately letting a home athlete win in a marathon event. The "win" has lost its meaning and it doesn't feel good. This actually happened in Beijing recently and was reported on.

If you play Singles, You know how frustrating and distracting it is to play against a player who constantly delays the game because they obviously can't continue anymore due to exhaustion. There are player who can capitalize with their stamina and long endurance. It's unfair, because players train and work hard not only to hone their skills But to also make sure that they have enough stamina to last long and grueling matches. So, for any player who illegally delays the game, Not only do they abuse the rules They also play dirty because a lot of players work hard to drain their opponents energy only to be disrupted by such poor sportsmanship behavior.
