What I call an unstable entry is when talking softly has enough force to initiate the start of a ceiling collapse. Saw it start and stop as I talked. The trickle of crushed stone dusted my scalp while talking and the hint was not ignored.

Hey first yeah! I would say that was a level foundation for equipment and to load trucks with ore since there is no ore bin.

Where it says 1 with the hook, its a survey mark

Is it the same with other numbers throughout the mine?
@VikingExploration603 ай бұрын
@@Miner49er1 If they are repetitive at regular intervals then yes they are called survey stations, each station is measured to the next, then a compass bearing is recorded, an inclination or declination reading, and if more accuracy is needed the tunnel size can be measured at each point, from these details you can draw up a 3d plan on paper or if handy with the 3d mapping software, create a 3d model from the data points.

It appears the larger rock wall supports a platform maybe for machinery? Were there any concrete pads on the platform?

Not that I can remember, but you could still be right. Not sure what it was used for.

Cool looking mine! Absolutely SCARY looking ground, though. That was a collapse, not backfill - the evidence is the waste pile. 1 - Too large for the short run. 2 - Notice the color of the top center of that pile, it matches the much darker rock that shows in the collapsed area. HOWEVER, it obviously wasn't the end of the waste either, as the waste color lightens up as it descends that center portion. Cheers all, hope they do well in the marathon.
