Their government fostered a culture that favors cheating, as they don't care how you succeed, only that you have achieved the appearance of success. In everything. It's why most cheaters in online gaming are Chinese. It's why most cheaters in universities are the Chinese exchange/international students.

Crytek has a lot of bootlickers for some reason. I don't use the Steam community forums often but when I do, I always see the same 10 people who sit in the forums all day to defend Hunt: Showdown from criticism. Just thousands of comments saying 'there aren't bugs, there aren't cheaters, the servers are great, BB changes are good, Crytek NEED to release new DLC ever week, no the events aren't grindy' ...Just parroting every pro-Crytek talking point that you can think of. ...I just really hope they're being paid because I can't imagine doing that shit for free.

Videos like this contribute to a community that is irrationally paranoid about cheats. I've received _four_ cheat accusations via my Steam profile within the past ten weeks. This kind of crap isn't healthful for a game. And what do these videos really tell us? We still have ZERO idea about the _frequency_ with which people cheat. This is akin to watching a video of someone committing a crime and then concluding that the city in which it took place is crime-ridden. All I know for certain is that my matches are just fine.

@@be.a.7462 Fair point. I used to love this game as I played around 6.0 and it's true it's been going downhill since. It's been way too frustrating to see the state of the game and the community turning a blind eye so I also quit the game after the last event and I am not sure I will return. It's funny that I did mention using blood bonds was a form of a P2W system as you could use it to remove traits and modify health chunks but fanboys kept on arguing with me. Well, what do you know now? Even Crytek admitted it was P2W so that's why it's free now. The problem is they nerfed the process in getting BBs now so you either have to complete weekly challenges or get lucky and either get BBs in the map or from dark tribute. I like how Crytek is pushing out ways for people to spend money to get BBs for time-limited weapon and hunter skins but they allow cheaters all sorts of immunity to get away with it. What's the point in pushing out monetization schemes if the hackers turn away players?

​@@be.a.7462 The Cycle had no anti-cheat, and it got infested so badly at the start it killed the game then and there basically. Hunt wasn't like this. In the Cycle you encounter your first cheater in the first few matches, in Hunt it took a lot longer to find a blatant cheater like those in the Cycle. The game didn't fail because it was a bad Tarkov clone or that it "Removed" all of it's original bones. The idea itself was to be a Free to play, Fornite esque version of Tarkov with a much much lower learning curve and less obtuse grinding for every small thing. It didn't kill itself trying to imitate Tarkov, the problem was the lack of anticheat in any capacity. in fact I liked the game more than Takov. The gameplay felt a lot smoother and the gunplay was genuinely fun. The crafting wasn't needlessly convoluted, and the mats were way less so you aren't running around trying to find 2-3 pieces of loot you need in heaps of junk you don't. You need bio stuff? Go to Labs or other Osiris facilities. You need metal and industrial stuff? Korolev. Generalist loot? ICA. It had balancing issues but the most that killed it was the late anti-cheat response by the Devs. By the time they did something about it the game fell from the scope of most regulars and it slowly died. It's a shame too, I enjoyed it's style a lot. The monsters are far more interesting than fighting loud as hell Scavs shooting you with aimbot from some bush 500 meters away and headshotting you randomly.

One thing that annoys me too is “it’s just Asia servers”. I work and mostly live on a night schedule. I end up playing kind of late for NA west and the servers become overwhelmed with players from Asia, and a decent number are sus at best (hard to tell sometimes with that high of ping) or just outright cheating. You check their profile and they’ll have multiple other game bans on record. So even saying it’s only the one region is a bogus excuse

Same boat here, I'm a night guy I work late and get to play US East around 10PM to Midnight and it quickly gets plagued by CHINESE motherf*ckers, same for US West. I used many years ago to play until 3-4AM without issue but now it's very hard to play past midnight without getting into cheaters 1 match out of 2, unbelievable! I have to play SOLO to be mostly against 3-4* and sometime 5* to get less cheaters, otherwise if I trio with my friends all 5* we keep getting into loads of them, it's impossible to reach Level 50 without dying at least once to a hacker.

ASSUMING the report function actually did jack all, it would be the only method worth using. There's no reason to randomly call out people for 'cheating'. Huuge you are my hero! I’ve been so frustrated with cheaters for so long! I remember when I first started running into cheaters, I couldn’t prove it but I knew it had to be a cheat! It was so frustrating so I down loaded a cheat myself just to see how it worked! Once I did that I really seen the number of cheaters was insane! I had a full understanding of the many ways the cheats worked! That account got banned so I created another account ( no cheats ) but with my new knowledge I can spot cheaters without having to watch them! The only thing that keeps this game enjoyable is the MMR system. It makes cheaters have to play with other cheaters and the very best players such as yourself! Me I’m an MMR 4 player so I don’t run into that many cheaters on N/ A servers! I’d say about 3-5 a week!

Doing damage control by not doing any public statements and shoving all of the discussion away into a corner on both major balance questions AND the cheating problem is crazy to me. Literally just sitting over there doing jack diddly. "Oh but the engine update is coming!" I don't care. I know nothing about that update. Nothing. Literally the only info I've gotten on it is "It will be significant" and I have to ask HOW? What the hell is this going to change? What is it going to do? Right now, I expect only graphical changes. And I actually expect the game to run worse because every single time they've added a wildcard event with something cool like the rain or inferno it has run like trash on my AMD system so I expect the upgrade to actually worsen my performance by a "significant" margin. I'm so jaded with Crytek. At every corner they keep failing to give timely results, and refuse to communicate anything regarding the game. It's unacceptable.

5ish maybe The one that stuck out the most was a team that was shooting through the entire building, from the NW end of the compound to the SE end of the building and landing almost every shot, but every shot was clearly right at me and my teammates. They weren't just random. It was scupper, so we're talking through 1-3 walls, pillars, hay bales, etc. We weren't poking, they didn't have a beetle up.

I live in Asia so it's just a universal constant. Playing on US West you just run into the same Chinese players cheating. Recently the ping to Europe from my country and my friend's country has gone from 170ish to 250+ consistently so there is really no escape.

Hunt was published 2018. We expect a certain quality that can be provided in 6 years of developments POST launch. Here are some issues Hunt has, that are unacceptable for such an old game: deranking in QP, no server-based decision making if shot landed (makes ping abusing possible), shitty servers, no replay, no !ingame! reporting system worth speaking of, hidden profiles (no other shooter i've played does that), no custom crosshair, quick swap (animation does not reflect what happens ingame), unbalanced guns and cheaters.

Great work Huuge, thank you from the entire Hunt community man. It just shows how incompetent Crytek as an organization is. I meet wallhackers in Europe servers almost everyday I spectate them and see how they wallbang and report them with in game reporting system well knowing that they will get away with it, without even getting an account reviewed

Worth making a second version of the video and putting black bars over all account names to satisfy the "No name and shame" rule. Put them to the test and see if they block it after you comply.

they will still block it. it has nothing to do with the names being shown and everything to do with their public image. crytek wants to control public opinion to limit the amount of players that will stop playing and buying their dlc's. the video is bad publicity and causes people to stop playing and supporting them.

@@andrew-em6tr a quick 20min edit to block all names would confirm this. Until then it’s just speculation. I’d like to see this edit made and see if they continue to block to new URL. Worth trying to really confirm if it’s just community rules or higher ups on damage control.

i'm starting slowly reaching 6 star mmr... yesterday night i played with 2 friends who at some point reached 6 stars, in our trio matches we encountered at least 3 blatant cheaters (EU region)

I'm a high 5* and often went into the 6*, it's absolutely plaggued in US East & West by blatant cheaters and Asian/Russian players "surprisingly", all using the "hacker ammo aka Spitzer", it gets extremely boring to the point I've stopped playing trios with my friend to only play Solo against 4* so there are still cheaters but far less so I don't die 1 match out of 2 because of a hacker.

It’s sad that we live in a world where people have to cheat in every single game possible. I know it’s existed and happens irl too but like it’s disgusting how people will do anything for any advantage possible. I’ve been trying to play more hunt with my friends but we sit in queues and then get dead lobbies… like we either get a lobby with only two players besides us or just dead lobbies completely. It’s getting tiring running around with most bounties across the entire map for just zero interaction with players.

Just want to say that cheating on console (esp. input spoofing, recoil mitigation, and the stuff more common on PC) is probably the biggest reason I ended up quitting. The game’s technical state kept getting worse, development got mired in more fatiguing events, and cheating just escalated and escalated. This is unacceptable.

Yup, all my friends stopped playing Hunt 1 by 1 because of the cheater problem escalating. I wrote to Crytech 6 days ago (before watching Huuge's vids on the topic), that I now have no more of my friends to play with, because of the flood of cheaters comming to EU servers, and I said: " I'll give you 6 months to adress this major issue or I quite too". Its out of control.

It ALREADY went out of hands since I'd say 2 years out of 6? It got worse and worse by A LOT. I used to be able to play at night until 3-4AM with my friends, now don't even think playing past midnight it's infested by hackers unless you're in a 3* lobby. I have to play solo now to try getting not too many cheaters, otherwise it's being almost unplayable even during the day in US servers. I'm on the verge of stopping gaming for a good moment as it is my only game "3000H+" since many years but there's nothing good these days anymore. I might have to dig in some old singleplayer games I've bought but never played or finished.

Saw a name like that in my lobbies last night. I wasn't able to click on the majority of the name, but I was able to click on it if you click the N in "No". Just like how precise it has to be if their name is just a single period. The account for me was a literal fresh account. Nothing setup. Not even a name.

I can understand Cryteks perspective. If the community of your game talks about cheating a lot it is very bad / negative advertisement and if in reality the chances to encounter a cheater are FOR NOW STILL very low in most regions, it makes sense to do a lot of "damage control" while (hopefully) still working on anti cheat measures in the background.

HS devs actively take steps to protect cheaters though... There used to be a surefire way to get the steam profiles of every player in the lobby, but the devs removed that file because cheaters were complaining about "feeling unsafe" and sht, lol. The only way to slowly fix online PVP games, is to simply stop playing the games whose devs protect and/or ignore cheaters. I will not be playing Hunt Showdown again, to say the least.

I've been complaining about cheaters for years. Cytek does nothing and it doesn't help that a lot of content creators say cheating is quite rare in hunt compared to similar games. This is not and never has been true. The reality is a lot of clips like these are just the most blatant ones. The amount of people who are smart about it and just run an ESP then try to play "normally" is probably on par with tarkov. It wouldn't surprise me if there's someone with ESP in every lobby. On EU I'd say every second game I play I encounter someone suspicous and it just gets worse during fresh events.

the cheater problem hasn't been rampant for years, but the influx of cheaters has been insane for at least 10 months at least or so ... there has been little waves years prior but not like it is now beta player here with 5 k hours.

@@Genesizs There are just more people using the more blatant cheats than there were before. As others have said there are a ton of people who simply have nothing but a wallhack toggle. If you position yourself right and don't stare obviously at walls when you have it active its impossible to tell for a spectator, yet it is an incredible advantage. The majority of people who cheat in tarkov play exactly like that. You underestimate how many of them hunt has. FPS are by far the genre cheats are most prevelant in, especially those where you lose something when you die, like hunt, tarkov, dayz etc.

to be honest , crytek was so unpolite to me when i sent a cheater with video proof to them i stopped playing the game. i had a discord mod ingame who was cheating and when i pointed that out, they totaly muted me from everyting...discord , hunt...all down. also another crytek mod started to harras me....company went crazy with the cheating.

What I hate most is the people who just wring their wrists and say "Well I don't see any cheaters" and as you said "Well it's not my region so why should I care?" That's the same sentiment people had about Tarkov years back. Look at Tarkov now. Cheating is so bad people literally played an independent PVE mod until BSG decided that they want to charge people for it too, since obviously there's now a huge demand for it, after people are just thoroughly done dying to blatant hackers any time they want something more than scraps from the raid. Oh you went to labs to farm with keycards? Too bad, there's like 4 cheaters running around the map with vacuum, esp and soft aim and the moment you get into the locked room grenades start flying in and you get rushed.

US West servers have had these cheaters for months. Its the reason I stopped playing Hunt back in November. There are just too many cheaters and laggers running rampant and the devs have no interest in resolving the issue.
