I often play a game in my head "which good game has the worst development team" and the answer is constantly changing but its REALLY hard to look past Crytek because they just sit on their hands and do nothing, barely balance, repetitive events, barely any new content, non-existent anti-cheat, horrible skill based matchmaking, infinite DLCs, no communication like its an awful combination that I think makes them the worst devs to have a good product. Crazy when you look at whats become of COD, Battlefield, Ubisoft, EA, Blizzard, Tarkov and so on. But I still think hunt takes the cake.

Is think their management team and main people in charge are the main culprit. You can tell the artists are passionate about their work. You can tell that people who work on the game truly love it. But you can also tell that the greed of the people higher up leaks through and forces the truly passionate people into doing things they otherwise wouldn't. To be fair, at the end of the day, it's a business, and their trying to make more money than they put in. It's just annoying to see an obvious disconnect between the higher ups and people who put their heart and soul into the game. Hunt showdown (if managed properly) could be cryteks biggest money maker. It's ridiculous it doesn't get the respect it deserves

Crytek has a lot of bootlickers for some reason. I don't use the Steam community forums often but when I do, I always see the same 10 people who sit in the forums all day to defend Hunt: Showdown from criticism. Just thousands of comments saying 'there aren't bugs, there aren't cheaters, the servers are great, BB changes are good, Crytek NEED to release new DLC ever week, no the events aren't grindy' ...Just parroting every pro-Crytek talking point that you can think of. ...I just really hope they're being paid because I can't imagine doing that shit for free.

Videos like this contribute to a community that is irrationally paranoid about cheats. I've received _four_ cheat accusations via my Steam profile within the past ten weeks. This kind of crap isn't healthful for a game. And what do these videos really tell us? We still have ZERO idea about the _frequency_ with which people cheat. This is akin to watching a video of someone committing a crime and then concluding that the city in which it took place is crime-ridden. All I know for certain is that my matches are just fine.

Their government fostered a culture that favors cheating, as they don't care how you succeed, only that you have achieved the appearance of success. In everything. It's why most cheaters in online gaming are Chinese. It's why most cheaters in universities are the Chinese exchange/international students.

@@be.a.7462 Fair point. I used to love this game as I played around 6.0 and it's true it's been going downhill since. It's been way too frustrating to see the state of the game and the community turning a blind eye so I also quit the game after the last event and I am not sure I will return. It's funny that I did mention using blood bonds was a form of a P2W system as you could use it to remove traits and modify health chunks but fanboys kept on arguing with me. Well, what do you know now? Even Crytek admitted it was P2W so that's why it's free now. The problem is they nerfed the process in getting BBs now so you either have to complete weekly challenges or get lucky and either get BBs in the map or from dark tribute. I like how Crytek is pushing out ways for people to spend money to get BBs for time-limited weapon and hunter skins but they allow cheaters all sorts of immunity to get away with it. What's the point in pushing out monetization schemes if the hackers turn away players?

​@@be.a.7462 The Cycle had no anti-cheat, and it got infested so badly at the start it killed the game then and there basically. Hunt wasn't like this. In the Cycle you encounter your first cheater in the first few matches, in Hunt it took a lot longer to find a blatant cheater like those in the Cycle. The game didn't fail because it was a bad Tarkov clone or that it "Removed" all of it's original bones. The idea itself was to be a Free to play, Fornite esque version of Tarkov with a much much lower learning curve and less obtuse grinding for every small thing. It didn't kill itself trying to imitate Tarkov, the problem was the lack of anticheat in any capacity. in fact I liked the game more than Takov. The gameplay felt a lot smoother and the gunplay was genuinely fun. The crafting wasn't needlessly convoluted, and the mats were way less so you aren't running around trying to find 2-3 pieces of loot you need in heaps of junk you don't. You need bio stuff? Go to Labs or other Osiris facilities. You need metal and industrial stuff? Korolev. Generalist loot? ICA. It had balancing issues but the most that killed it was the late anti-cheat response by the Devs. By the time they did something about it the game fell from the scope of most regulars and it slowly died. It's a shame too, I enjoyed it's style a lot. The monsters are far more interesting than fighting loud as hell Scavs shooting you with aimbot from some bush 500 meters away and headshotting you randomly.

One thing that annoys me too is “it’s just Asia servers”. I work and mostly live on a night schedule. I end up playing kind of late for NA west and the servers become overwhelmed with players from Asia, and a decent number are sus at best (hard to tell sometimes with that high of ping) or just outright cheating. You check their profile and they’ll have multiple other game bans on record. So even saying it’s only the one region is a bogus excuse

Same boat here, I'm a night guy I work late and get to play US East around 10PM to Midnight and it quickly gets plagued by CHINESE motherf*ckers, same for US West. I used many years ago to play until 3-4AM without issue but now it's very hard to play past midnight without getting into cheaters 1 match out of 2, unbelievable! I have to play SOLO to be mostly against 3-4* and sometime 5* to get less cheaters, otherwise if I trio with my friends all 5* we keep getting into loads of them, it's impossible to reach Level 50 without dying at least once to a hacker.

Doing damage control by not doing any public statements and shoving all of the discussion away into a corner on both major balance questions AND the cheating problem is crazy to me. Literally just sitting over there doing jack diddly. "Oh but the engine update is coming!" I don't care. I know nothing about that update. Nothing. Literally the only info I've gotten on it is "It will be significant" and I have to ask HOW? What the hell is this going to change? What is it going to do? Right now, I expect only graphical changes. And I actually expect the game to run worse because every single time they've added a wildcard event with something cool like the rain or inferno it has run like trash on my AMD system so I expect the upgrade to actually worsen my performance by a "significant" margin. 100% Agree with what you said. Seriously now at 35 years old I don't enjoy gaming anymore, I've put 3000H+ in the last 6 years of Hunt and I'm close to quitting cause of this cheating bullsh*t. The only way I found to make it somewhat playable by reducing cheaters by 66% is to play solo against duos though if you win too many rounds you'll obviously end up against a Chinese that will kill your Lvl50 hunter, and stop playing at midnight... no more late Hunt nights like I used to. Multiplayer gaming was 20x more fun 15-20 years ago than it is now. It's been so many years since I've seen a good high quality multiplayer game, and all sequels have gone to garbage (CoD, Battlefield, CS, etc). Might have to stop gaming entirely or go back to the ton of solo games I bought and never played or finished and finally play them before they age too much lol.

Huuge you are my hero! I’ve been so frustrated with cheaters for so long! I remember when I first started running into cheaters, I couldn’t prove it but I knew it had to be a cheat! It was so frustrating so I down loaded a cheat myself just to see how it worked! Once I did that I really seen the number of cheaters was insane! I had a full understanding of the many ways the cheats worked! That account got banned so I created another account ( no cheats ) but with my new knowledge I can spot cheaters without having to watch them! The only thing that keeps this game enjoyable is the MMR system. It makes cheaters have to play with other cheaters and the very best players such as yourself! Me I’m an MMR 4 player so I don’t run into that many cheaters on N/ A servers! I’d say about 3-5 a week!

Crytek is engaged to increase their player base or even keep it consistent. They don't treat Hunt & the players anymore like they did years ago. Best example is the amount of "events" we have now. What did Dennis say? 10 out of 12 month are running an event? Holy christ man. Having vanilla Hunt is the actual event nowadays. But they know that new players are joining every event so they don't give a damn about what the veteren players are thinking about it. Like "you're playing this game for like 4-5 years? Get the f out if you don't like it. People who loves events will follow & replace you." Same with the cheaters. They pretty much don't care. Every new account brings money & a new player to the statistics. There's no grind anymore in this game. Imagine someone completed the event on 3 different accounts. & yes, this person still has a healthy work-life-gaming-balance. Everyone get's everything in their butt for free without doing much for it. Meanwhile Hunt gets annoying & it's just a question of time until they start to regret some decisions even tho it's to late at that point & hunt is going to die. "IF yOu LoOk At EvErYwHeRe ElSe ExCePt AsIa ThE cHeAtEr NuMbeRs ArE lOoKiNg PrEtTy GoOd" .. 30% of the asian cheaters stay on their servers & 70% of them are on all other servers cheating around. Funny fact: The player base in Hunt didn't increase btw for almost 2 years. & they didn't even start to think about what the reasons could be. They're driving their straight path with a lot of debatable decisions without looking left & right & they're just doing what they think THEY like the most, not what's good for the ACTUAL community. When a Dev is deciding something because he likes to play that way even tho he's not even better than a 3 star .. well, you understood a lot.

they will still block it. it has nothing to do with the names being shown and everything to do with their public image. crytek wants to control public opinion to limit the amount of players that will stop playing and buying their dlc's. the video is bad publicity and causes people to stop playing and supporting them.

Funny how Psychoghost and his brain washed fan base still love to say "there's barely any cheaters in Hunt." As for "They're only in Asia." my retort to that is, where do you think those Asia hackers like to go when they get bored fighting against other hackers? i'm starting slowly reaching 6 star mmr... yesterday night i played with 2 friends who at some point reached 6 stars, in our trio matches we encountered at least 3 blatant cheaters (EU region)

I'm a high 5* and often went into the 6*, it's absolutely plaggued in US East & West by blatant cheaters and Asian/Russian players "surprisingly", all using the "hacker ammo aka Spitzer", it gets extremely boring to the point I've stopped playing trios with my friend to only play Solo against 4* so there are still cheaters but far less so I don't die 1 match out of 2 because of a hacker.

HS devs actively take steps to protect cheaters though... There used to be a surefire way to get the steam profiles of every player in the lobby, but the devs removed that file because cheaters were complaining about "feeling unsafe" and sht, lol. The only way to slowly fix online PVP games, is to simply stop playing the games whose devs protect and/or ignore cheaters. I will not be playing Hunt Showdown again, to say the least.

Honnestly it's the only way I've found since 2024 to keep having fun with this game after 3000H and 6 years. I got sick of playing Trios with my veteran friends all 5* and me being close to 6*, we get into cheaters and often the same one EXTREMELY OFTEN in US East and West to the point it got unplayable and very frustrating. Now I play solo against duos of 3-4* then if I win too many I get a lot of 5* duos and start getting into some suspect people again until I die, lose my lvl50 and go back to 3-4* duos. Very annoying but it's now that or I stop playing.

Yup, all my friends stopped playing Hunt 1 by 1 because of the cheater problem escalating. I wrote to Crytech 6 days ago (before watching Huuge's vids on the topic), that I now have no more of my friends to play with, because of the flood of cheaters comming to EU servers, and I said: " I'll give you 6 months to adress this major issue or I quite too". @@mac2312 its almost comedic, i play every night and run into at least 5 cheaters. and i actually posted a clip in discord, one of which was from my friends (spectating) pov. and man i gotta say people will come up with the wildest things. like for example instead of accepting its a cheater in the clip, a crytek employee instead answered "spectator camera is not accurate and it looked different from the persons pov" i find that response funny as i fail to see how spectator cam not being lined up matters when i got shot through 4 walls from 325m away with a uppercut. anyways i asked why hunt was doing nothing about cheaters and a staff responded that they were, and then linked me to the old post from 2020. needless to say after watching this i think that was further from the truth than i imagined. Man i love hunt but losing $1500 kits due to cheaters is really ruining the experience.

The problem with people saying it's just an Asia problem. Asia is the only server I can play on with players. NA is too far away and OCE is dead. So either I brave Asia and face cheaters every second match or I don't play the game at all.

Hunt was published 2018. We expect a certain quality that can be provided in 6 years of developments POST launch. Here are some issues Hunt has, that are unacceptable for such an old game: deranking in QP, no server-based decision making if shot landed (makes ping abusing possible), shitty servers, no replay, no !ingame! reporting system worth speaking of, hidden profiles (no other shooter i've played does that), no custom crosshair, quick swap (animation does not reflect what happens ingame), unbalanced guns and cheaters.

If we could get refunds, crytek would be so and I mean sooo screwed. They have an excuse for every single time I've made a report to crytek directly, quick to nerf, but slow to fix any of the actual problems in the game. They're slow in the head, and honestly they get what's coming to them. If I were a developer I'd make what hunt should've been.
