Excelent documentary. I felt absolutely identified. I was also going to run Patagonman as my first major triathlon after COVID. I finally run it in 2022, by far the hardest and most beaultiful triathlon of the world. I finished as exhausted and cold as you in scotland. By the way, Patagonman conditions are not warm as you mention on the video. The condutions are very simmilar to your solo 70.3 you raced in scotland.

I just signed up for my first ever marathon, so I really need this! I've never run anywhere near that far - I did couch to 5k last year in an effort to lose weight and get fit, and to my enormous surprise I absolutely loved it. I run as often as I can, and have started doing strength training too, and I've never felt better! But the marathon is absolutely terrifying... which is why I need to do it. I'm 39 and struggled with mental health issues, including depression, anxiety and late diagnosed ADHD, to the point where my life just fell apart after my partner died, and I just couldn't seem to get it back. Running has been the single best thing I have found for calming my mind and managing my mental wellbeing, it's just incredible. I'm trying to rebuild my life at last, and reframe how I view myself - not as a failure, or even a survivor, but as a courageous, strong fighter. Running a marathon is my way of achieving this while raising money for a mental health charity. I'm so excited and so terrified, but I have a training plan, enough time, and now some tools for the mental side of it. I just need to go for it. Thank you so much! Good luck to everyone who has taken on an epic challenge and is currently terrified too - you've got this! See you on the finish line!

Good luck in the marathon. It sounds like you have planned your training and are preparing well. When it starts to get tough remember that more is in you. Plus, break the run down into short-term goals - one step forward is a step closer to the finish - you've got this

I loved everything about this film, I liked how it was segmented with good advice, guidance, wisdom and action. I will keep this in my library forever. It not only applies when I'm pushing myself physically but also when I'm leading a team at work or other wise. Thank you.

What an inspirational Film! I am currently fast approaching 50 and have signed up for a local standard Tri with a view to tackling a longer distance in the future. Both this film and the Norseman Film you made have been very informative, that even top class athletes face the same metal challenges as us mere mortals. Though I think if my gloves were filling with more and more icy water, im not sure my resilience would have been as strong! Well done and looking forward to seeing what you attempt next!

Excellent documentary, very inspiring! I myself is ex swimmer (sprinter) swam for national team and had a 14 year carrier winning national titles and qualifying for Europeans and world championships... In recent years got into running and now got a TT bike and signed up for 70.3 Ironman... Lets see how it goes:), I guess my biggest fear is the fact that I will have to run without any music (typically listen to my tunes...) Any advise for this? Thanks again for awesome video!

train without music, when I go on a run below 8-10km I only have my keys and watch with me. No phone, no headphones, no music.

Really enjoyed watching your Shieldaig sufferfest (whilst sitting on the turbo). I didn’t expect the Celtman Segway halfway through. A welcome surprise as I’m training now for my third Celtman June 2024. Now you’ve visited Shieldaig in the winter why not pop up next summer for a wee triathlon? 😂

Incredible accomplishment Prof. Pushing the boundaries of what is possible as usual. You are a complete headcase mind you 😜 Definitely inspires me to keep working hard doing my training routine. I will think of you in all that pain in that Transporter van when I am struggling and will keep pushing hard. Dip into that Happy Bank 😉 Never give up. 💪🏻 Great production mate, top class film. 👌🏻

I really enjoyed this and will take away as much as I can for this race season - some great advice and actually delivered in language I can relate to and understand. I love the idea of the positive thought bank, on race day I often find myself in some dark places questioning my life choices but will definitely put this into practice. I look forward to watching more of your videos!

The lock downs were put in place so you can make this statement I am so sure that if they were not put into place for your health it wouldn’t be so ridiculous.
