@@furiousdefiler7734 used bunch of mod with additional mech variants and no one of them add Kcrab with 2 SideTorsos mounting energy/ballistic. so i just throw this idea and keep playing with YAml mods. 10-20 mech wariants dont make gain needed one more easy... because enemy in mission start to use mods trashy variants more often then vanilla one which sometime a lot better then modded ones.

Also, iirc, this mech was used as a command mech up until the Atlas stomped off the lines. Then that usage got moved to the Atlas, allowing the King Crab to focus on being a funny brawler.

​@Grimson87 the kgc-010 was a successful attempt at making a command mech from the king crab. It had a limited production run and all existing models left with the exodus. It features an lbx10 in each arm. A ppc in each shoulder. And an srm 6 in each shoulder. Interestingly it's ppc w3re stayred to have red colored shots.

I played Battletech with an Ace Pilot and a King Crab with AC/20s as its primary weapon. This pilot rarely missed cockpit shots and rarely didn't do enough damage to rip an arm or leg off an enemy mech. However i ran into another King Crab who got a lucky shot off on the dice and one hit killed my pilot. I restarted that one.

This thing right here, this is my favourite assault-class mech in the setting. This baby can pack so much boom in its arms, it would make an atlas blush...or run away with that death's-head tucked low. I disagree with the idea that the King Crab carries firepower which is meant to be devastating at all ranges- at least, not in its base variant and most others. Rather, this kaiju is meant for brawling in city-scape environments. Sure, you can replace those AC/20s with gauss rifles, but the variant that did so was a clan-buster, and very few others do similar. And sure, it has a large laser paired with an LRM-15 in its respective torsos, but those aren't meant to be used as anything but weapons meant to pester enemies until they reach proper engagement range for this beast, that being "Optimal Inner Sphere engagement range", or "I can see the whites of their eyes from here". And that's why I love it so. This beauty of a monster is unparalleled in brawling range, and if you upgrade its ammo, armour and fully spec its weapons to close range, nothing will ever come close to beating it, pun intended.

@@bthsr7113 Made mine in my modded MW5 which is a fusion of Inner Sphere and Clan technologies, twin Gauss, twin ER PPCs, and twin SRM6, all clan tech, a laser AMS to deal with missiles, and to top it all of, armor with Null Signature System attached. Can take on 3-4 clan assaults with its headshot ability alone.

My favorite assault mech second only to the Berserker this bad boy can do absolute wonders if supported right, it ant fast, nor even overly versatile. It has 2 back up weapons and usually just enough ammunition to get through most fights. But it's certainly one that needs a bit more prep time to be game changing, because it doesn't just sit back and fire from range, nor does it have the speed to really fall back after being committed to the fight. It's an assault mech through and through

MechWarrior is one of the purest Sci-Fi unverses that were ever imagined. Up to a 100 tons heavy machines, running on fusion reactors would explode an entire planet and putting the weight onto a possibly about 2m² foot, while waking, would make it stuck in pretty much every ground immediatelly. I ask because I was playing the underground versions of Battlemech and Shadowrun in which the Grasshopper was a super light mech, while I saw a heavy version online. In Shadowrun Orks and Trolls changed names for example and some arch types like Toxic Shamane are not listed or turned NPC like the Crusader Knight and their convent structure is lost. There might be copies in P2P networks around.

I recently got Mech Warrior 5 for my PC for free on Xbox Gamepass. Wow am I glad I got this one. It's so detailed, and the graphics look amazing through an AMD 7900 XT card @ 4k on a 55" LG OLED C1 TV. Playing on a larger screen really makes you feel like you're in the cockpit. Plus, the game has co-op mode! That's not a common enough feature these days. Which is unfortunate because that's the best thing for any campaign game.

Honestly Baradul, you need to do voice acting for gaming. Just a hint of Arnold, a pinch of Waltz and a dash of Mads. Just a question I have had ever since I found Battletech: How do you figure out a mech's intended role and whether it is good for that role?

in videogames they usually tell you, other wise check sarna(the wiki) to find out it's intended role and compare it's stats, although some opinion gets into the mix based on pilot skill brawlers usually want good armor and devastating firepower (usually shorter range) like the Atlas, Warhammer, or King Crab skirmishers are usually fast and agile, usually want jump jets and high speed, good firepower never hurts because 1 or 2 good skirmishers can bring down the heaviest inner sphere mechs, includes things like the shadow hawk scouts are very fast, lightly armored and (usually) lightly armed, see the spider and pheonix hawk(which is a well armed scout) fire support mechs usually have poor to average armor, are slow, and carry heavy firepower for indirect fire (missiles)see the catapult and stalker for direct fire see the rifleman or Marauder one of the most important things to know is depending on what you are doing you can drastically change a mechs role with the right loadout... like a fire support king crab with gauss rifles and LRMS or a brawling marauder sometimes these altered role mechs fill the new role better than the originals too

Though impressive, the king crabs 🦀 weakest point is it’s external weapon arms ,, enemy mechs seem to always target 🎯 these gun arms first, and then the rest of the crab 🦀 next ,, Once your “” gun arms”” ,, get blown off , in most crab 🦀 models ,, you are left with only one Lazer, and a ineffective Long range missile launcher,, that does absolutely dick , when the enemy is right there in your face,, That is why I prefer to battle with the ATLAS. It’s because even if your Arms get blown off,, the substanability of your mech , doesn’t diminsh , because most of your combat weapons, are built into the chest cavity, and that’s how you can then afford yourself ,,some control and comfort in the devastation that you can keep dealing out onto your enemies, until you can get clear of a battle area safely..❤😊❤

Load it with RAC/5s and a couple LRM15s and you have a walking A-10 with its own anti everything support.
