wow, excellent demonstration of bunkai. Really like how you show how to realistically practice it, and gradually progress from simple to full applications.

Merci Didier !

I do not think that kake te is intended to be a palm heel strike (it certainly isn't in kanku dai), but okay.

Are you planning more and can I buy these on download / dvd? Excellent stuff
@haffoc4 жыл бұрын
With all due respect to Sensei Didier, I disagree with his interpretations in techniques 2 and 6. There he interprets what is in fact kake te, a block, as instead a palm heel to the face. Kake te is a really useful parry (also found in Kanku Dai and Bassai Dai), more so in many respects than shuto uke. It is a staple in Chinese styles like hung gar and the various iterations of Shaolin, where you can see it performed in their forms exactly as it appears in Unsu. As Unsu is the most Chinese influenced of all the Shotokan forms, it is highly unlikely that the author of the form intended it to be anything more than it already appears, a parry.
