Part 2 of the visit to the UNSW Quantum Computer research lab with Professor Andrea Morello who is the Scientia Professor of quantum engineering in the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at the University of New South Wales, and a Program Manager at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology.
This video looks a the smaller helium test tank, probes, and the pump room.
Plus a look at the Australian National Fabrication Facility where the research silicon wavers are produced.
Part 1: Was an in-depth look at the engineering inside a quantum computer, and also demonstrating the operational results live and how they are measured.

Great tour, there are not that many videos with this level of details on quantum computer labs.

Just watched the part 1 too. This stuff is beyond my understanding, but it's still really interesting to see just what goes into this sort of research. It seems we are actually half decently close to seeing practical quantum computers. I imagine we won't see them in homes any time soon if ever but I could see them being useful for AI and such once refined to the point they can do actual tasks. I can imagine them being scaled down over time too where you basically install a "quantum card" in a regular computer and plug in some chiller lines into it that go to a central chiller system.

We used to have an adsorbtion fridge at home in the 90s. Perfectly silent.

Very nice tour, thanks! Do they also do the calibration for sensors and devices in-house?

9:55 I always thought they make this with photons rather than electrons edit: the extreme UV lithography costs billions of dollars? Wow, never thought it was this complex. Guess the accuracy needed makes it very expensive

Generic name: QUMPUTER - From now on, let's call them QUMPUTERS. Much better than the tongue twister 'Quantum Computers'!
