Emily is one of the eight protagonists and a playable character in Until Dawn. She is voiced by actor Nichole Bloom.

Emily is shown to have survived her fall due to a rope catching her foot suspending her upside down. After swinging to a ledge she is injured when the tower collapses deeper into the mines. She explores the mines looking for Matt and an exit while finding clues about the disappearance of Beth and Hannah. After discovering no way out she soon encounters Victor Milgram, who reveals himself to be harmless, and the Wendigo . She is given a bag with flares and flees from the wedingo as Victor keeps them at bay. She is chased into a mine elevator which takes her to the above ground mining facility. She scrambles up a conveyor belt with wendigo on her tail, and may be bitten based on decisions made prior to this point. She escapes the wendigo by zip lining down the ridge back towards the lodge where she finds safety with the others.
Possible Deaths
Emily can be shot in the eye by Mike, in fear that due to being bit by a wendigo will turn her into one.
Emily can be burned alive in the lodge if Sam chooses to run for the switch.
Emily's eyes can be pierced by a wendigo.
Emily can fall into an industrial rock/ore crushing device while escaping from a Wendigo, causing her legs and lower abdomen to be crushed, killing her.

everyone hates emily but her survival skills were top notch. keep in mind that this is her first encounter with the wendigos and would have no idea what they are, and on top of that she was lost in the mines, her bf had died, and the radio tower broke... but she handled it amazingly.

Emily is my least favorite. I don't think she is as bad as some people make her out to be, but she is too selfish for my taste. Her over the top action scenes don't do anything for me. I prefer realistic characters. I give credit to Emily for being the first to think of the fire tower but I doubt everyone would just curl up and die without her. Searching nearby buildings for a phone or radio seems like it would be a pretty obvious thing to do, or maybe try to get the power back on in the lodge.

Emily is one of the most unrealistic characters in the game in terms of the stunts she pulls off. It all comes down to opinions, but over the top action hero characters don't do anything for me. I prefer more realistic (or "weak") characters like Ashley, Matt and Jessica.

@Daddy Mousee Her over the top actions scenes are unrealistic. She falls like 40 ft from the zip line and shrugs it off like it was nothing as one example. If you don't have the attention span to like a character unless they are action heroes, or have scenes with guns or explosions that's fine. Sam and mike are also quite unrealistic.

She’s straight up my favourite character. She is so smart and badass down in the mines like it was her first encounter with the Wendigos and she handled it so good. Emily also has way better reflexes than anyone in the game, I feel like if any other character was in Em’s situation they would’ve died. And plus in the bonus scene with Matt, she was actually nice which means that she has a goofy side in her mean side. She’s the best❤️

@@assyrianprincess3 Yeah but QTE deaths are so much harder than Choice deaths like Matt, Chris, Ashely, or Jess. In my opinion this is easiet to hardest. 8. Mike (Extreme Plot Armor though the developers had multiple chances to make him die earlier and his death is only based on Sam and not his choices) 7. Sam (Severe Plot Armor but unlike Mike she has more Don't Moves which can be hard and sometimes the controller acts up and she dies but at the same time she can just run to the switch and survive automatically) 6. Josh (Just find the Journal but a lot of people missed it the first time around and he can live pretty easily but doesn't have much plot armor like Mike and Sam) 5. Ashley (She can only die in 2 ways and they are both really to avoid, just don't open the trap door and don't run to the switch) 4. Chris (Ashely and Chris are probably tied cause they are usually together through the game but choice deaths like the shooting situation are more difficult, many people shoot Ashley cause she says for her to do it and then he ends up dying) 3. Jess (Many people don't understand than you run after Jess that you shouldn't do the slow options plus when she's in the mines alone she can't run and if she's with Matt she might fall and they both die while hiding) 2. Emily (The bite and her getting shot is really easy to avoid but in the mines she has a lot of quick time events that can kill her, She doesn't go up the elevator fast enough, her not getting two out of three qtes, and her falling into the grater) 1. Matt (By far the most difficult to save, all the options to save him and make him not be an asshole are so annoying, when you play the first time of course you agree to go to the fire tower but you won't get the gun so instead of being the nice caring guy Matt is and save Emily you have to jump then which are so much choices that all have to line up perfectly. If you happen to hit the Deer and get pushed off the cliff then you have to deal with the fastest qtes in the game. Multiple don't moves at the end of the game but you can also run to save yourself which is easy but with Jess you got to abandon her.

Here’s how to make Emily escape the mines without getting bitten and still have a semi-good relationship with Matt. 1. From the beginning of the game when you’re playing as Matt, always choose the options that please Emily. For example, in the beginning when Mike scares them, have Matt be defensive because Emily likes that and their relationship will increase. Also, crucial part of this is that you have to side with Emily all the way during the fight with Jess in the lodge. 2. Once Matt and Emily are in the radio tower and they find the flare gun, let Emily keep it. 3. When you’re in the scene where Matt has to save Emily, choose the calm choices, don’t let Matt get angry or she will get irritated. 4. Shortly after they are done talking and arguing, have Matt save Emily ONCE. The second time, make Matt jump to safety. This will keep Matt alive and Emily won’t hate him. 5. When Emily is in the mines and she finally encounters the flamethrower, during the chase scene DO NOT and I repeat, DO NOT light the gas puddle on fire. This will waste her torch and later when she needs to defend herself against the wendigo, she won’t have anything on her as she uses the flare gun for something else automatically. Do not miss any QTE’s for Emily, I suggest you watch a play-through so you can kind of remember what buttons to expect to click next while playing as her. Eventually, if you clicked all the buttons perfectly, she’ll finally reach a scene where she’s by the big door and she has to use the flare gun to shoot the wendigo. This is a tricky aim though, the aim button is super small, and it only gives you a short amount of time to shoot. So be prepared after she goes up the conveyor belt. 6. If you did all of this successfully, Emily will not get bitten and the basement scene where Ashley points her bite out will never happen, which maintains her relationships with Mike and Ashley. 7. When Emily makes it back to the lodge, Chris will start to ask her questions, and you have the choice to decide if he should ask her where Matt is or if she was okay. I suggest you ask if she’s okay because if you click the choice for Matt, she starts calling him a sack of sh*t and everything but I believe she moves on from her grief because in the end credits she is really concerned for him and she then starts saying how she feels bad about being such a b*tch to him. Anyways, that’s how to do it! If you have any questions about other tutorials in the game I got you!

But then again, Matt as much as I like him wasn't really a great character as he's absent for most of the game and unlike Jessica who ends missing and presumed dead for most of the game too, she actually changes by the end of the game whereas Matt never really feels that fazed by anything that happened.

Why would she stop after locking a door? The chase is still not over lol, it's never good to assume you're safe just because a door is locked, those things can find another way around, just like with the elevator they'll still get a way to get to you.

Probably because she was tired? And the lack of noise on the other side could cause for her to believe that she was safe. Also, she has no knowledge of the Wendigo, so she may not have known it would still pursue her. Another reason is that it is the way the game creators made it? :/

Not only that but you can actually use the flare to escape from the Wendigo, so she took a breather and looked behind her and when she sees the Wendigo she immedietly starts running. This only happens when you give the flare to Matt or shoot it pointlessly into the air.

She stopped moving in the elevator and the Wendigo did not catch her then. Remember, movement is sight for them. Emily did not know that for sure, but smart as she is tested it out once (it worked) so she tried it again after locking the door. Second time it failed.

+Time Wizard Seeing at how fast that thing goes, when it hits the stop it threw emily forward, the force is no longer one directional. If emily didn't hit anything that would hurt her bad like beth did, she might not die because the acceleration in multi direction is not as bad as single directional acceleration in some circumstances.There the risk of her dying is reduced. Plus the inevitable roll upon landing would break the impact with the cushion of snows.
