I grew up listening to Chris Rice’s music and although I loved it as a kid, I’ve grown to appreciate his songs at an even deeper level as an adult. This is one of my favorites he’s written and I’ve often found myself singing it as a prayer. ♥️ Emmett was kind enough to join in once again and sing it with me. Thank you all for your encouragement as we’ve put a few songs up here, I pray this encourages you as much as it has me through the years.

I am so glad I took the time to listen to this first. It was ringing in my ears all day as I sat by her side and it was the first thing I listened to when I got home tonight after she passed away. It seems as if it's inexorably slipping away, like the ebbing of the tide. And yet, for the Christian, it is flowing into the shore in greater and greater waves, building to a tidal surge as an expression of gratitude. Once we become aware how vast and deep and wide is the love of Christ, in the light of the darkness of our soul, that He should sacrifice Himself for us -- beaten, forsaken, humiliated, and alone -- and through that darkest hour secure our salvation, everything else that happens is gravy, icing on the cake. Emmett: If there is anything good that has come as an indirect result of this pandemic it is the duets you and Katie do. The Petersens with Emmett are fabulous... but Emmett and Katie... well that is a "whole-nother-thing"! What is God doing here? 31 years ago (31 years ago, the week before last, as a matter of fact), my wife and I married because we shared three things in common: 1.) Love for and friendship with the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity... The Jesus you sing of here, 2.) Love of music (especially Christian music) and 3.) An ever growing love of each other. It was not love as the world gives. Perhaps I'm "reading into things" too much here. If so I ask both of you please forgive my presumption. But my bride and I could listen to you both sing together for a lifetime. Nevertheless, God's Will be done.

@grodhagen I love how they sound together, both wonderful musicians and singers. I would like to see them do a duet album. If they choose to share their personal lives that is up to them. Otherwise it's none of our business and quite honestly inappropriate. What bothers me is that we know Katie just graduated high school. She's 18 years old max, with her whole life ahead of her. She should be encouraged to pursue her dreams, hopefully giving us more music, and not have strangers telling her to settle down.

"And with your final heartbeat..." When Katie sings this line, I'm always already crying. The line takes me back to the hospital room where my Mama took her final breath and flew to Jesus. God gave me the greatest gift to be holding her hand and speaking all of our favorite memories as she passed. It was a miracle I made it to the hospital. I had 3 hours with her. She was unable to talk, but God took over. Giving me voice to fill that room with precious memories. I felt her spirit travel through me as she ascended. I was her only child, and we were best friends. I hold on to the promise that she will greet me in Heaven someday. Katie and Emmett...thank you for this healing song.
