Great video and well done . Mr Power would be my contemporary. He can hear the SALVE REGINA sung every Saturday evening after 6 p m Mass in Clarendon St Dublin . Salve regina mater misericordiae, Vita dulcedo et spes nostra salve. It is a pity the classics have been abandoned as he says ...it is not the younger generations fault it is ours who let them go in the rush to post war modernism .

Some schools were not good especially if they were family run. The Master and his wife and sister-in-law and just one non-family member to teach Irish as the teachers were raised during the occupation and Irish was forbidden and they had to try to learn it as adults, someone separate had to be hired to teach it. Nepotism is very bad and should not have been allowed. In the l950s the schools were made co-educational. The boys had their desks to one side and the girls on the other side with an aisle in between. There were also separate playgrounds. In the U.S. they would never teach philosophy at the grade or high-school level as thinking for oneself could be dangerous encouraging people not to march in lockstep to phony patriotism and even phonier politicians. In the U.S. the mantra is: keep them stupid or programmed; not exactly the home of the free, or the home of the brave, as it is promoted to be. We are seeing the result of ‘keeping them stupid’ or tied to religious fanaticism now, and it is not good. Its impact on the U.S. and the world will be hard to recover from, and the fallout will be long-lasting.
