Manza sahiba, wondergil proposals have been floated (despite being not having expertise in respected field) by you for getting rid of IMF. The suggestion of transforming governance to digitization is a superb measure, which would eradicate corruption as well. The most important issues need to be resolved are renegotiation with IPPs stateholders for revisiting contracts, secondly, austerity measures be inforced especially withdrawing of facility free issuance of units of utilities and free issue of petrol ltrs etc. These measures have become inevitable as a clerk, farmer and guard pays bills out of their meager income, why can't ruling elites.

Fully agree with Munazza Siddiqi’s suggestion that dual nationality of bureaucrats needs to be stopped. Another equally, or perhaps more important,step would be to deny perks and privileges like chauffeur-driven cars, free or subsidised fuel, and housing phone, gas, electricity etc. No other countries has these white elephants. Btw white elephants includes entire elite comprising politicians, bureaucrats, security personnel, and judiciary.

Madam is 100% right about digital economy. I am part of it. I urge all my fellow youth to learn digital skills and become a part of the international marketplaces as well as build personal brands in their respective fields. I am a 3D product animator, so I export my services to US and my earnings are in USD while sitting in Pakistan, also the tax is lowest as compared to local jobs. We need more software houses, design agencies, digital product builders and digitally talented people who can lift Pakistan. There is no hope from anyone in politics or establishment - naked fact. Our politicians are corrupt (IK is no exception), army generals are on another level. We the people will have to do hard work and create jobs here while exporting our skills. It is the best choice for people who can't leave Pakistan and want to earn in USD.

Your comment is factually incorrect. Most IPPs belong to China and Government. Also IPP owners belong to all parties. Even the Pak Army indirectly owns some IPPs via Fauji Foundation. Sharif family has only one IPP in the list. So please tell the truth even if you don't belong from that party

Great information provided by this journalist. The IPP contracts should be renegotiated. Also, not surprised to hear that during Benazir’s government, the IMF & WB (both are backed by the US) encouraged Pakistan to install IPPs to increase the capacity, because the US was lobbying very hard against the Iran-Pakistan Gas pipeline. India was promised sweeteners to drop out and was awarded years later in terms of lifting of nuclear technology related sanctions.
