The brickwork in that place is BEAUTIFUL!!
@davidlee67202 жыл бұрын
brickwork fantastic, i come from a family of bricklayers . They used to do fancy decorative, geometric pattern-work, herring-bone etc, I think craftsmen are very underrated - some have the touch of an artist. My father himself was well in demand.
@mhharley8 күн бұрын
My grandfather was a brick mason too. He took us around Columbia, SC once about 50 years ago and showed up buildings that he laid bricks. he has some fancy work. He's leave some signature flourishes on some of them. It was really beautiful.

I saw that the couple's wedding photo was on the wall that you looked at it and talked about it. That wedding dress that was hanging in the room was the one she was wearing in that photo of them. They had a beautiful love story and I hope someone in the family cares enough to save those priceless memories.

I think her dresses were hanging out there so they could decide which one for her to wear for eternity. They chose the one you do not see. You guys are right about what a shame it is that things just rot away and do not ever get used again. Useful things. It's sad. Thank you! ~Wist (aka Leisa Irwin)

Very true in most cases never to go back to the family, because perhaps it's tied up in court, only to be destroyed,left to rot, or stolen. 😔

Hi the stuff on the table is vermicelli little strands of chocolate if you look the jar has it written on . Also I lived in three room old cow shed and had fire I opened all the doors and in the winter my fire kept it cosy . Had rugs on the stone floor . Low ceiling high roof is for insulation gap but same principle as double glazing :)also I live in a village now that has no main gas in Somerset they either use large gas bottles or oil . I have log burner in my thatch cottage and deep windows thick walls my cottage is cool in summer warm in winter. ❤

Hey guys hope your doing well!💞🙏What a cute little house I can just imagine how nice it must have felt coming in from feeding the animals and sitting down in the cozy kitchen for some hot coffee. I love cottages like these, that stuff in the box is called sevin dust it's a pesticide to dust your fruits,vegables,flowers etc..to keep the bugs off, it was really great to see you take care and stay safe.🕊️😘

Hi guys, Greg the Egg coming to you from the USA. Wow! what a cool old house, and the things inside were just out of this world interesting and really old. As for this great story, I can tell you what, my heart goes out to this poor woman who's husband past before she did and left her all alone. Wow! with such pure love for each other, and with one gone and one to carry on. It must have been very tuff for heart, I agree, the broken heart syndrome... Thank you AWE for sharing. GtE.. love your channel!

Beautiful little Cottage in its day, very homely in the decore. The little things in the kitchen in the paper you refered to are dried 'Cloves' used when cooking apples for pie etc. If you have tooth ache you bite and hold a clove between your teeth to ease the pain. The hanging things in the wardrobe would contain a mothball like block or insect repellant. Years ago when I was a kid in London everyone had a marble top on a chest of draws or table in their bedroom, this is called a wash stand, it would have had a large china bowl with a jug in it to use for washing yourself, obviously before bathrooms were installed. Probably a small hand towel bar attached at the side. Good one Adam, where is Mark? Hope he is well 💕🇦🇺

Dave thank you for another great find, as I watch with a heavy heart for the family, I can only imagine how you feel physically being their touching things that they touched, I think the remaining family may have taken what they wanted outside of clothes their went pictures or little things they collected so that makes me feel a little better. Hey Marky, you need to be exploring with Dave we need your beautiful harmonizing and that cute mug of yours, miss the dynamic duo. Love from N.Y.

This is a great explore. Yes the house would have been cold during the winter and too hot during the summer. No insulation and slanted walls, I know that the older generation used newspapers to line the walls and a mud mixed with horse hair also. Love that furniture, real wood not plastic or particle board. Have a great day and stay safe.

Nice video guys. Didn't know you folks over there were so familiar with American songs. It's a shame these people didn't have family to leave all those antiques to. You say you don't believe in taking things from abandon homes. I rather see people taking things than have the vandals come in and destroy it. That's even sadder. Thanks for sharing this video guys. Enjoyed it.
