Have a listen to some of the unusual instruments that I came across lately. Here´s some info to each instrument, followed by a link to the original video.
#1 The khene is a Lao mouth organ whose pipes, which are usually made of bamboo, are connected with a small, hollowed-out hardwood reservoir into which air is blown.
• Banakula x Llusion x P...
#2 The hurdy-gurdy is a stringed instrument that produces sound by a hand crank-turned, rosined wheel rubbing against the strings. The wheel functions much like a violin bow, and single notes played on the instrument sound similar to those of a violin.

#3 Hurdy-gurdy amplified
• Guilhem Desq - Break Y...
#4 The Yaybahar is played similar to orchestral string instruments by hitting or sliding a wooden bow along the two long strings suspended in the center of two drum heads, by hitting the drums, or by sliding the bow up at the top of the instrument. It is inspired by several different instruments, including the Turkish ney, African thunder drum and Australian didgeridoo and represents both Western and Eastern influences in its design and sound.
• Görkem Şen - Yaybahar
#5 The keyboard glockenspiel, or organ glockenspiel (glockenspiel = concert bells) is an instrument consisting of a glockenspiel operated by a piano keyboard.
• Celesta VS Keyboard Gl...
#6 The singing Tesla coil, sometimes called a zeusaphone, thoramin or musical lightning, is a form of plasma speaker. It is a variety of a solid state Tesla coil that has been modified to produce musical tones by modulating its spark output. The resulting pitch is a low fidelity square wave like sound reminiscent of an analog synthesizer.

THE INSTRUMENT AT 2:47 is The Celesta. It was invented in 1886 by a Parisian harmonium builder Auguste Mustel . His father, Charles Victor Mustel, had developed the forerunner of the celesta, the typophone, in 1860.The celesta is a relatively young instrument - even younger than the saxophone.

if you ever continue this series, a good addition would be "That 1 Guy" and his "Magic Pipe." it uses both physical vibrations and digital signals. he plays it by bowing, plucking, slapping, touching, drumming various parts of the pipe, buttons or strings. it is kind of a modular device where he can add and remove joints to change the sound, attach external drums, kick drum pedals, bend it to change tone, pitch, etc. it really is a strange "one man band" kind of instrument
