I think this is an excellent training and demonstration activity that we should all do

During my PPL training I've done spatial disorientation but always had the outside visual reference, along with the instruments, to correct myself. I'm starting my instrument training now and expecting the instructors to do much like this. Really like the first step where you had your student make the corrections, highlights how easy we can fall under the illusions and how we have to trust our instruments to stay on, or get back on, course. Cheers!

Russ looked like he was having fun. I doubt I was smiling the first time I did unusual attitudes under the hood.

Excellent exercise, Jason! More instructors should use these intense examples to equip pilots with the life-saving understanding of maintaining positive aircraft-control at all times while trusting their flight instruments.

I know any private pilot & above would have gone through this training, but my only suggestion is still just a one minute brief of the unusual attitude recovery procedures, and why we execute these recovery procedures in this specific order. -nose high: power, pitch, bank ... and -nose low: power, bank, pitch. Other than that, really great video on unusual attitude training techniques!

I feel like thats something you have to actually experience to understand. Jus wanna say you have a real knack for teaching. The way talk to the student and your energy is just so positive, seems extremely conducive to learning, especialy something so difficult.

My instructor always did the close your eyes - bump the plane around - recover. Next time I fly dual I'll try it your way.

I started flight training 4 years ago and still do not have my private! Got up to 35 hours before *&@% hit the fan. I got twirled around in a flight school and they decided to use me for my money. Needless to say, I’m out of money, and no private. Going to A&P school now, and hoping to start flying this summer. Your videos really help, and really make me want to fly again. I’m ready to get this done.

They can be scary and disorienting at first but they are so important!

I LIKE these methods of disorientation. Wish my instructors would do these!!

I like having the students rotate their heads around and then doing some commercial maneuvers like a lazy 8 but using some more aggressive maneuvers at the end so I really confuse them and then trim using nose high or low and it really messes with their heads.

I'm coming up on spatial disorientation in my 141 program and am not looking forwards to it. Is it common for people to lose their lunch with these maneuvers?

Hey MzeroA, I'd like to request a video on class charlie Approach and departure procedures such as contacting clearance delivery and when you are able to enter the class c airspace and when you aren't. I feel that unless you are based out of a class charlie airport for training, you don't get to fly much out of them and don't have much knowledge about them. A video about this would clear up a lot for me since your videos always provide me with the best knowledge. If not, could you please point me in the right direction to some resources to learn about this topic?

Cheater! Not much point wearing the foggles if you're going to look outside during the recovery. ;) It's hard to overcome that instinct, I know. Well behaved on the second one, so you made up for it.
