UNUSUAL CASTLE IN ITALY | ROCCHETTA MATTEI

Me and my friends went for a day trip at Emilia-Romagna to visit this unique and unusual castle called, Rocchetta Mattei. We first had lunch at Porretta Terme, which is just 15 minutes away from the castle. After lunch, we went to visit the castle.
The castle is located on top the Appenines, between Bologna and Florence. Built in the second half of the nineteenth century by Count Cesare Mattei, it blends various eclectic styles from Medieval to Moorish.
After exploring the castle, we've decided to visit a lake nearby called, Lago di Suviana. Spent our late afternoon there and then went back to Florence in the evening. :)

Thank you for making this video! May I ask how long does it take to visit this castle? I see on its website that it’s required to make a reservation for a group tour to visit this place, but do you have to follow the tour guide all the time and exit on time? Or it’s allowed to stay longer after the guided tour? Thank you!
