I was waiting for my son at an optometrist's office yesterday, and my fountain pen ran out of ink. So I pulled out the spare cartridge I always carry with me, tossed the old cartridge (I've refilled that cartridge several times with a syringe, so it has lived a good life), and carried on writing. The ONLY time I use a ballpoint is when I'm writing on on the plastic bank deposit bags at work.
