As a Subaru Sales Consultant I can confidently say that we have not heard anything about the Baja coming back. In fact I have asked our rep several times about this and been told that it's not coming back. Nice thought. If Subaru did bring the Baja back and it looked like this it would sell like hotcakes

All about sales, that's why it was discontinued in 2006. The same happened with jeep renegade, 2024 is the final year because of lack of sales. I would buy this subaru in a heart- beat, only if it really looked like this one. But, it's all about sales quota's. As a sales person, I think you would know this ?

6spd manual transmission, YES. Sunroof, NO. But I do prefer leather interior over StarTex (Vinyl) any day. But to each his own. I have had leather interior in my vehicles for years. All you need to do is clean and condition them once a year and if it’s good quality leather, it will outlast the vehicle. It’s not as supple as the leather I had in my RAV4 Limited 4WD, but the design of the seats themselves are more comfortable than I had in my RAV4. I opted for Sephia Bronze (shows less dirt) and the saddle Brown leather in my Forester Touring. I’d much rather have an extended cab so the bed would be larger. My Forester was in the shop because the DCM in the computer took a dump and it was on back order so I had a 2024 Outback Limited XT for a loaner car for 3 weeks and surprisingly it got 25mpg, which is the same as I get in my 182hp naturally aspirated 2.5L 4 banger in my Forester. So perhaps when the Baja comes out, I may just get it with the turbo.

It's too small for the American seating Girth. Nobody fat is going to buy what they cannot fit into. They did not buy the last one that was a tight fit.

If Subaru would STOP with the CVT and give their vehicles a normal geared transmission, they would sell more and the fuel economy would improve quite a bit. My previous RAV4 Limited 4WD with the 268hp 3.5L V6 got 28mpg on the highway with the cruise set on 75mph. The best fuel economy I’m getting from my 2.5L 4cyl Forester Touring is only 25mpg and it’s a GUTLESS 182hp. If I would have known that my Forester would get 3mph LESS mpg, I would have Never sold my RAV4 and would have still been driving it. That 3.5 V6 is a 350K mile engine and I know that my Subie won’t make it that far.
