budget in Thailand is so personal..u can survive on 10$ or spend +10000$ a day..and all between. Its all up to YOU and what you want in life Most expensive as always is barlife and expensive ladys..if u keep away from that its pretty cheap to live a GOOD comfortable life with no drama.

0:52 He "does tend to take people out to dinner" but spends 60 baht per day on food. 2:42 That's 1800 baht per month or about $50 USD per month. For anyone not here and that doesn't know, this is bullshit unless he calls buying someone a bowl of plain rice taking them out for dinner.
@justinccross
@justinccross 3 ай бұрын
The amount he mentions for food per day is dramatically lower than most - doubling that for most people would still be LOW - no disrespect intended here and he probably honestly is making that happen but he is in a profound minority and you will find yourself spending 3 to 5 times that amount. I’ve lived here over 1 years

Many people eat too much. 100 baht per day is good. I don't eat breakfast. I pay 40 baht for lunch and 60 baht for dinner. Many markets after 7pm sell their prepared food for 30-50% off. If you want western food then you pay those prices if not more.

@@travelghost099 I have a B&B in the NW part in Nimmanhaemin, for my first three week recon trip and I would like a more quiet area. However, where I'm staying is on the flight path, so there's that. I've also booked a realtor to drive me around Chaing Mai to see where would, be a good fit. Once i get settled, I'll probably travel the country more to find the perfect spot. My budget for a condo is up to 20000 Bht, and from the recent looking I've done, I shouldn't have a problem finding something. The burning season does concern me, especially for how long it lasts, I plan to be pretty flexible if and area doesn't work out. Thanks for reaching out, THH.

How were you able to live in Thailand for 5 years? I thought it was hard to get a long term visa in Thailand.

Probably education visa - take Muay Thai lessons or Thai language will get 1 year visa. Or business visa, I think there is another vlogger that does this setup through visa agents.

Yeah, I can't believe that 60 baht per day figure. The cheapest single dish you can find on the street is around 25-30 baht. Eating 2 meals per day of the lowest quality street food is not a good idea. He spends more money on weed than on food!

Lol there are too many western immigrants in Thailand. Expat is BS. They are immigrants. Nothing wrong with that either. Just accept the reality. Expat is a way for western people to see themselves as above something that they are not. Until one gets Thai citizenship they are immigrants just as people are immigrants in western countries.

How do you only spend 60 baht a day on food? How big is your apartment? What area? Are those places easy to find? I assumed rent would be higher in BKK. Is it possible to get an apartment at that price for shorter leases, like 6 months? Thanks!

Thailand is not the place to retire anymore. Great to visit or live and work there, but not for retirees. Starting 1 Jan 2024 Thailand now taxes the income of retired Expats (including Pensions), if you live in Thailand 180 days or more in a year, while all the other countries in SEAsia do not. Hopefully Thailand will change their mind, but as it is now, starting on Jan 2025 Expats have been told to pay income taxes on the money they brought to Thailand from 1 Jan 2024 onwards. Thailand also wants to implement worldwide taxation, so even if you dont remit the money to Thailand they want to tax it . No matter how good their Visas are or the country is - for retired Expats Thailand is not the best option (we are leaving).

179 days in Thailand per year is enough. After that you want to get out anyways. Malaysia, Singapore etc is the same. If you stay 180 days in one year they want to tax you. Divide your time between countries.
