I think a road trip from London to Paris is in order. Maybe find someone who reviews electric cars in Switzerland who could drive a Microlino to Paris for a meet-up. Or even better, if you do that with several reviewers from the country of origin of all the Ami competitors and make a co-production of the whole journey, it would be great.

I'd like to see a comparison with other quadricycles, the Microlino, Ark Motors, Silence 04 and anything else you can find that's available/when they're actually available in the UK. It would be nice to see this segment grow, although I don't personally want an Ami for a few reasons, I'd be up for a cost effective L7E quadricycle, or even a better implemented L6e like the Ami.

I think I am in love. With the Ami of course (maybe) !! Nice little thing but we still love our nearly 5 year old Kona that still does 300m in the summer. Cooled seats, with every toy you need. Heat pump, active cruise, can you beat it ? Well an EV6 or Polestar AWD might, I have driven both.

I love the Ami! I'd love to have one, If I could get: battery heater, and improved defogging (for the winter) I wouldn't mind to have Type2 input, rather than tethered schuko. Would be cool to get a bike rack on the rear.

I would definitely see how much you can modify it. Raise it, bigger treaded wheels (or smaller wheels for the laughs), see if it's possible to increase the range with a bigger battery... for a vehicle that cheap, you could really go to town and make it something unique. I feel the AMI has a lot of potential in the personalisation department, but even more in the modding department. Something that is missing in Electric cars right now, is the ability to modify the vehicles (Something ICE vehicles have done since their inception), and really the only thing that ICE has over Electric right now.

What fun! Perfect company car! I can see contests between the Ami and an e-bike, preferably a smaller one like a folding e-bike: speed, distance, who can carry the largest passenger…find a rugby player or some other burly fellow and see how far which vehicle can drive him around; loser must charge the batteries up on their own time or some such thing. How about an electric trailer that follows the Ami at very short range automatically,but is not physically attached. One that can also be moved around by remote control and can carry gear/bikes/... Perhaps even a mini camper option. Extra power!!!

Use it for a shift delivering pizza. See it it is possible to charge while waiting and use it for the whole night. Compare the costs with using an E-scooter or alternatives that run on fossil fumes.

How much shopping will the Ami hold? We do a big shop every five or six weeks and wonder if it would be possible to put two shopping trolley-worth's, usually six or more full shopping bags. A bonus would be to fit a walker/stroller in it. It looks like the seats were not too low for someone disabled to exit. We have a Peugeot 4007 for that very reason.

Ideas: AMI versus Ebike - the drag race series AMI wrap inspired - an Ebike wrap design monthly competition (cos custom wrapping is awesome) Ami Upgrade series - thing's you can buy for your Ami to improve your daily commute ie accessories, speakers, cosmetics etc.

We saw one in the flesh a couple of weeks ago on a holiday to Spain, my wife’s one word description, “hideous”, followed by “we are never, ever having one of those things!” Looks like we’ll hang on for the Dacia Spring.

The Dacia Spring is a car this is not a car it's a quadricycle and I am still not entirely sure why this is not made more obvious in all the reviews. Anyway it's very much apples and pears and the Spring costs double. This is meant to be affordable transportation.

@@HologramJones and it’s crap, boiling hot in summer and cold in winter. At 8k it’s over priced, there have been lots of quality control issues and it’s just too slow. The carver and silence 04 look much better vehicles for a few thousand more.

Plus there are accessories including third party ones I have seen there including fans and shades to make it cooler. It's simple. You have to know what you are looking at. And it's obviously not the product for you. You are expecting a car out of a quadricycle, it was never designed to be a car and offer what a car offers. It never will. It's a four wheel bycicle with bodywork attached. 🤷‍♂️ "The carver and silence 04 look much better for a FEW THOUSANDS MORE" proves my point.

@@sergentcolon1 in fact just checked the price for a Silence S04, £15000+ that's double the price of the AMI not a few thousands more and in that bracket a low mileage good condition Hyundai Ioniq Electric 38Kwh is a much more sensible buy. Or a new Dacia Spring. Both cars! It's literally EV car money. As for the quality control issues, I haven't heard much about that in the continent and even here on KZbin people complaining about that are very few.

@@HologramJones The Ami might be more practical proposition in France where it can be driven by 16 year olds and those without a licence and only costs €6k but it’s not cheap transport in the U.K. it’s never going to be a big seller here. I’ll stick with my 125 scooter, half the price, more than twice as fast and even easier to park. Oh and I’ve watched quite a few vlogs from real owners who have had problems with them, not just seen them on hols.

Ok, time for switching out the motor so you can hit 60mph as I need this sort of speed to get to my local supermarket as 28mph is going to turn me into a HGV ornament. Yes, yes, I know that's not the idea and that 46 miles range will plummet to 28 miles. But my supermarket is only 6 miles away, as is my gym, my local DIY etc.... All linked in kent through fast A-Roads! Lets custom this puppy 😁 I reckon Moggy from Electric Classic Cars would do a channel mix up to give you some pace and grace (did i really suggest he cram one of the Jaguar I-Pace EV400 motors in this crate ?)....

No need to switch out the motor, the hardware is capable of 50mph it's software blocked. The company that makes the hardware, Valeo, has stated that this is possible but not for "civilian" uses. Besides it's classed as a quadricycle, by law it cannot exceed 28mph.

The Topolino is overpriced in comparison. Same platform but more fancy design touches. It kinda defeats the concept/purpose of the Ami. It's meant to be affordable transportation and the Topolino starting at £10000+ for that money I'd buy a Hyundai Ioniq Electric used with around 30,000 miles 🤷‍♂️

The quadricycle needs a bike rack... its definitely a shame that even though no license is needed in France (where it was made), thanks to the UK road law we need a full license; its essentially an electric 4-wheeled bicycle. I want one, but have never driven, buggeration.

On Ebay ,there are 17,000 plus , used electric cars ,many with low milage under £6,178 . Why buy a car thats real life range is 40/45 miles and is limited to towns only ? When you can get a EV that holds 4 adults as well as your weekly shopping and can drive 100 miles on one charge .

1. It's not a car 2. In Europe it is sold to 14 year olds as it does not require a license 3. If an electric car is costing £6178 used with low mileage there is definitely something wrong with it.
