Love the review... quite the Halloween watch-party you've put together here. BENU is currently my favorite modern pen company, not in small part due to the fact that the generous feed on those Schmidt nibs make the most of ink flow, even in my fine versions. I've had 3 different BENU's at various times, thanks to used sales and a clearance at Atlas Stationers, and every nib has written like a dream. They must be doing some good QC at BENU, because I still haven't heard a reviewer have any issues with their pens. My current favorite is the Euphoria Sangria and the only item I have on my b'day/christmas gift wish list is their Summer Magic hand-painted one, from their website. Told the whole fam they could go together on it, if need be. They are such a delightfully creative company.

A nice review for a beautiful pen Doug! I have a couple Benu's (not that model) one of which was a Goldspot Mystery Dip purchase - a Talisman Royal Flush. The other one I got more recently from Pen Chalet. It was their mid-priced Mystery Box and it was an Astrogem in Pallas - a a beautiful Blue pen I think you'd really like!!

It is a beautiful pen. I don't know how the pen was hand painted but I am guessing a coat of resin was applied after the painting was done to preserve it. I have some ornaments that were painted on the inside using very small brushes. I can't imagine this was painted the same way. But I digress. I have only one Benu, a Talisman in Dragon's Blood. I should ink it up with Oxblood or Crimson. The nib is also a Schmidt. I didn't like it at first but I reseated the nib onto the feed and now it works great. I have reconsidered Schmidt. I only have two pens that I know are Schmidt and both work wonderfully. Love the episode with the appropriate effects. The film scenes are perfect. Wonderfully done, Doug.

The opaque black insert in the barrel is painted on the outside and slips inside the clear plastic outer barrel.

Beautiful Pen, my favorite subpar Dracula show was the Night Stalker series with Darrin McGavin. I'm a chicken, I can't stand watching it at night LOL! There's a part in there that makes my dog bark making me jump even more. But all the movies inserts are great. Thanks for the memories.

Good lord! Dracula's monster. Beautifully edited, excellent foley work. Excellent use of excelsior! Brilliant! (And thanks for the film recommendations - I used to be a delicate flower and couldn't watch even old-fashioned not-horror -- I used to be terrified of even hammer house of horror films)
