There are many examples in the Old testament Scripture of their being more than one entity for lack of better description, that is who God is. But, you only need to look at Genesis 1. Just one sentence alone if this is also the word of God, should at the very least have you consider who God is. After all, God isn't who we want him, or think he should be. He is who he is. I Am that I am. When man was created, the Bible quotes the Lord as saying: Let us make man in our own image. And since we know throughout all the scriptures, we're reminding we are made in the image of God. That one sentence alone, tells us that though there is only one God, he's not what our extremely limited human minds can comprehend. We are made in his image. Who was he talking to? If it was anyone else but God, then we weren't made in his image. And anything else besides God, was created by God. He is who he is. Of course it doesn't make sense to us humans. There's so many things that we fallen humans can not understand. Why else would we need faith? Faith is the assurance in things we hope for and confidence in things we can't see.

We have the same goals, purpose and desires , that is the plan God had when he says we become one. The same with the Father and the Son they have the same likeness , they have one Spirit and Jesus says he always does the will of his Father ( one goal, one purpose) but they are not the same being. In Genesis 1:26 where you quoted that the Father said to his Son let us make man in our image and likeness, if they were the same being , this would not make sense, why would he be talking to himself ? In my understanding this is similar to my husband saying to his Son ( they look alike as they are father and son) let us make this play dough in our image. The trinity is in numerous passages in the bible my friend, you have no clue what you are talking about Jesus' baptism-Matthew 3:13-17 (voice of the Father, Son baptized, Spirit descending like a dove). Salvation-1 Peter 1:2 (chosen by the Father, sanctified by the Spirit, sprinkled with the blood of Jesus). Sanctification-2 Corinthians 13:14 (grace of the Lord Jesus, love of God, fellowship of the Holy Spirit). Christian Baptism-Matthew 28:19 (baptized in one name, yet three Persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Prayer-Ephesians 3:14-21 (strengthened by his Spirit, know the love of Christ, filled with the fullness of God). Christian Growth-2 Thessalonians 2:13 (chosen by God, loved by the Lord, sanctified by the Spirit).
