In a "mineral moon" image or video, the colors are enhanced to reveal the moon's mineral composition.
Here I've edited the Seestar S50 telescope video to get a mineral moon. Blue areas indicate regions rich in titanium, typically found in the younger lunar plains (maria). Orange and red tones highlight iron-rich areas, usually in older highlands. Brown shades reflect a mix of iron and magnesium, seen in craters and highlands. Gray and white regions represent the common basalt and anorthosite rocks. Yellow hues point to volcanic activity with high magnesium, while purple marks areas containing both titanium and iron. These colors provide a deeper insight into the moon's geology, showcasing its hidden mineral diversity.
