One of the guys at my first RC club had an earlier version of these, without the auto-spool up. One big issue with both real gyrocopters and model gyrocopters is that, as the main rotor starts spinning on roll-out, the lift is severely unbalanced and they have a nasty tendency to tip over. Many of his take-off attempts ended with a roll to the side. With the auto-spool, the main rotor is already spinning enough for lift on both sides, making them easier to keep level on take off. Smart decision by the manufacturer!

I ordered it on 10/12/23. My order currently says “order processing”. I’m hoping I didn’t miss out on the batch that’s been delivered and that I don’t have to wait for the next order… the website now say it’s on “Backorder” with no projected date.
