After the new models and some new features were added, I finally had time to test GPT-4o in Novelcrafter in both chat and prose.

I don't know if it was explained in back video or if I missed it ..... The Frame work is an outline layout that the CHAT takes into consideration when giving book ideas. Do I understand that right? Awesome Video by the way!!

"It's an older model... but it checks out." (insert Mister Miyagi head nod gif) In just general use, -4o is just an extra level of slick and clever above 4.0 Turbo. For my usage, I haven't found that any of the Claude models match my sensibilities. For the novel I'm writing, I haven't found Novelcrafter to be able to replicate my style, but to be fair, I haven't done too much extra work trying to train it on my style. But I do have a use case that I'm interested in unleashing Novelcrafter on. Within the world of my fantasy novel, the religious leaders write extensive works as they interpret and present to the people the messages they receive from their gods. I use quotes from these manuscripts throughout my story, always coming up with the specific quote I need and that's it. But I'd love to let it come up with pages and pages of writing in the style of that religious leader. It's these kinds of deep cut throwaway details that AI writing is great at.

All of the models need a great deal of editing, and since I like to write and edit beat-by-beat, this works well for me. And the easiest way to get it to mimic your style is to feed it your writing. Back in the pre-NC days, that meant feeding it a sample chapter. With NC, it is helpful to write the first scene or two to give it some context of what you 'sound' like. Question: do you add the General Prompt you create to EACH novel or is there a way to add it universally to NC if you write in that style all the time, do you have to add each time you begin a new book , is my question?

When you add a prompt, it is added to your account and available in all your projects. In an upcoming update (Friday/Saturday, I think), they'll add the ability to have "folder" names for your prompts.

Thanks for all this work. I can't help but notice that you are using a codex entry called 'Framework' and you were using it as a reference for your chat with 4o. I looked at some of your other videos but didn't find any information on how to go about setting this up. If you have already covered this aspect of Novelcrafter, may I ask which video covers that information?

So, there are a few things that you can do with the Sample Codex. Mostly, I created it as a tool for those new to Novelcrafter to learn how to use the software but aren't sure how to get started. You can write the story in the Codex (with the outline, characters, and locations I've provided), use the Framework and prompts I've provided to create a Codex for a different story or use it as an example of how a Codex works.
