People talk a lot about how awesome these free videos are from the perspective of trying to learn chess (and they’re totally right), but I also want to shout out Danya for how relaxing they are!! I’m not studying these games, but they’ve totally changed my nightly routine and help me so much to calm down and fall asleep, thanks Danya!!!

me too! i see danyas videos during night where i can focus better and learn, the best about his videos is that is not a normal chess class, is also entertaining, you don't get bored, danya explains in detail each move and its value, is just amazing! Danya is an amazing teacher and instructor.

In contrast to this, don't try winding down and going to sleep with an Alex Banzea video unless you want to be startled awake thinking you just had a heart attack when he randomly screams into the mic

Danya one suggestion as a regular viewer of your content, could you maybe do playlists for specific openings? I have gotten into sicilian just by watching your speedrun games and it'd be nice to have them all in a playlist because the re-watch value is tremendous since I can't remember shit

One great way to memorise the moves, although pretty ambitious one, would be to open a chess board and make all the mentioned moves yourself as you follow the video, up until a point when you can literally play the whole game all by yourself.

I just began playing chess three months ago at the ripe age of 36. I wanted to thank you because you have have no clue how much you have helped me through your videos as well as the course I bought from you. Really well done and I actually really like the structure of it, with the downloadable pgn files! It’s beyond measure compared to other courses I have. Really well done! Thank you Danya.

These series are LEGENDARY!! Playing games online is not enough to get better or much more than 1600, then if you add tactics exercises you can get around 1900 but then you start to play against people that knows the main opening lines, some of them in some depth, and you get outplayed badly. At that point these content explaining openings, ramifications, general concepts and tactics are really needed and can push you 200 or so more points. After that I guess you need a personal coach, but for the vast majority of us this is exactly what we need 👍👍👍

About a4: there's a typical idea in the main line of the Schmidt Benoni where white also plays Bb5+ and then plays a4 to prevent b5 prophylactically because a6 comes with tempo

Thanks for all the videos. I learn so much from each video they are really amazing. BTW if you want to pronounce "scheveningen" without going full Dutch, it's much closer to just say "skay ven ing en" (which isn't too hard to say at all). Then if you want to do the full thing you would replace the k sound with the "ch" sound from the Scottish word "loch".

Fascinating lines there after Bb4! I was thinking white would want to deflect the bishop off it's diagonal so white could play Ne7, but missed the idea of intercepting the queen to allow the mating attack. Have to remember that problem like idea.

At 21:00 Nxe4 almost works, because white can only take back with the knight and then black has d5 fork, except that white can then take the f6 bishop with check (Nxf6+) and save himself.

The B knight is the MVP. Maneuver Nb8-d7-c5-d7-b8-d7-f6-d7-f8-e6-f4-e2-c3xb1 is brilliant. Also, a very interesting structure with black bishop on a8, black knight on b8 and white bishop on c8.
