It’s incredible how much has changed in over these hundreds of years, and also how much has stayed the same. Disarm and conquer has always been the strategy of those who desire to control over living in peace.

Living in peace is a chimera. Moments,hours, maybe even days of carefree peace. (boredom) Call it what it should be called. Living in a satisfied manner. Our species hasn't evolved to live in peace, we have evolved to be the best death dealing animals in existence. We are not victims. We are predators.
@tommurphree5630 Жыл бұрын
The Indians had to be subdued as their intent was total annihilation of the emigrants or immigrants , whichever , can't remember which . It's hard to make peace when people carry a grudge . That goes both ways .

Who will recall the essential argument of the American Revolution indeed, the undeniable fact that the British had a stake in the new world that preceded the Declaration of Independence one hundred years hence! Great video, at least you aren't influenced by the political narrative as has happened in a lot of countries. A friend of mine has some great old rare books on Aussie aborigines, they too were cannibals (human kidney fat was a sort after condiment) and warfare was a common event.

Excellent reminder of the fluid nature of North American indigenous migration and demography well before the the arrival of Europeans, and which continued well after European arrival without the latter being the principal motivation for indigenous migration and strife.

@@jasonbrown372 : didn't need a history lesson from you. I know all about that sordid affair. I also know that "Indian removal" started earlier after the acquisition of the Louisiana territory. "without the latter being the principal motivation for indigenous migration and strife." I don't agree with this part of what you said. Yes their demography was fluid. But to act as if the sudden influx of several sea faring nations, guns, disease, ect ect " wasn't a principle motivation" seems ignorant. The reason why these groups were able to be so "Fluid" was the influx of guns from the dutch!! The book is about the Conflicts after European occupation, not prior.

The cruel, savage ritualistic habits some tribes practiced reminds me of ancient wickedness I've read about in the Bible.
@lenormand4967 Жыл бұрын
Yes, they are Canaanites. Their practice of burning children alive, infanticide, abortion, cannibalism, meant they were meant to be eradicated. When the Chinese from a tiny state in China invaded, they committed genocide of all the male White natives and raped the surviving female White natives. Their daughters still have female relatives in Europe.. Have you seen the contemporaneous fine painting of Rebekah (aka "Pocahontas")? She had wavy auburn hair, light eyes and milk white skin. On old maps the eastern states were called, "Greater Ireland."

@NVMVNV Unfortunately it’s you who has been dodging the issue for two days. Let’s go back to the original film that this thread is about. It was about the appalling if not horrific punishment the Comanche dished out , not only to white settlers but to other tribes. Your response was “ so what? Name me a country/race that hasn’t done those things”. So I named a few . Then you said “ ah those don’t count because none of them tried to colonise America. So at least we had an admittance from you that not “everyone” behaves in this way, but essentially your beef is with the colonists. WELL SAY THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE THEN. Stop trying to justify Comanches methods of torture and torment by saying everyone was doing it when clearly they weren’t. Stop moving the goalposts because your argument gets exposed. Stop telling me that if I didn’t personally count the number of immigrants that entered the Americas , I had no right to quote a number even if it was a historical fact. There’s a woman on this thread who is a relative of Mathilda Lockhart. That young girl was held captive for two years by the Comanches. She was tortured for two years. One thing they did to this 14 year old girl was burn a bit of her nose off each morning. When the scarred , gang raped, tortured girl was eventually returned ( in an exchange) she had no nose left…just a pus filled mess on her face. She died a lingering death. Comanches then tortured and murdered her 6 year old sister. This is very recent history and a history that has been whitewashed as “The brave noble Indian against the nasty pale face”. Have some fecin respect for her relatives. It was shameful behaviour that was totally unjustified. If you are going to come on tough threads like these , please try and be a decent person.

I'm thoroughly convinced that meat protein is toxic. When you correlate carnivorous behavior with that of omnivores... there really isn't much difference. You don't see much change until factoring in the herbivores who've been fighting a defensive war from the beginning. The most profound statement made in this presentation was/is... time to bury the hatchet. Humans like any creature can mutate into something better. Most people haven't researched the overall world-diet ratio. Says ol'Remo.🪶🍎
@georgedavis65838 ай бұрын
Probably a side effect if lifestyle. Hunters were always more mobile looking for more land to hunt. While farming cultures were more tied to their location. I'm pretty sure meat protein isn't toxic.
