Great vid. What would be the best kayak to go camping in and bring my mid sized cattle dog?

Is the 140 discontinued? Looking at sinks as a minimalist alternative to toting heavy SOTs.This and the new Sandpiper are grabbing my attention.

Thanks for your informative video - another question: What holds the dashboard/console in place?
@ARCPaddleVa5 жыл бұрын
It clamps over the rim of the cockpit.

Just bought this one for my gf. The dashboard keeps slipping off. I feel like they should’ve kept the bungee cord method.

@@jimthao6624 I hope your gf likes the Pungo. I agree about the snap on design + sorry to repeat, I miss the old style storage compartment since I have no use for the smartphone battery holder. That track slide mount might be useful though. I posted my question a year ago but...last week, my 82 yr. old Pungo brother/paddling buddy let me try his 2017 "Konsole" on my new 2020 Pungo 120...feels "okay" but does not seat right/moves around on the comb. The old style fit my former Pungo 140 like a glove...

i am torn between the 120 and 125. i am 6'3" and 210 lbs. I wouldnt want to feel cramped in the 120 but maybe the 125 would be too much boat?
@ARCPaddleVa4 жыл бұрын
The 125 would definitely give ya a bit more room.
@lukelong40544 жыл бұрын
I would agree. I’m the same height and a little heavier than you and just ordered the 125. I obviously haven’t paddled it yet, but I think I’ll be happier with that extra room.

Shane Kelly, I agree. Having two models, the 120 and 125, so close makes it confusing, and not sure if there is any performance difference between the two. I have no idea what a small, medium or large paddler is, and I have seen some pretty large people in the 120. I’m 6’, 215 but would prefer the shorter 120 since I only have about 12’4” of space in my garage for it. Was going to test them out but now with COVID-19 we can’t even do that.

@@ScottUSAGame Same here: I keep hearing those terms tossed around: "small" paddler fits the 120, a "large" paddler fits the 125. But I really don't know if that's talking about height vs weight differences. I'm 6-2 205lb. Am I "large"? I'm tall, but I'm not really "large" am I?

Does the dry box leak as bad as the hatches that never stay dry?????
@ARCPaddleVa6 жыл бұрын
I recommend a dry bag in your hatches. Water can break down rocks through weathering and erosion. NO hatch is waterproof. That's just science.

Good review. Is the Pungo 125 bow any higher than the previous Pungo versions?
@kroynenno6 жыл бұрын
Nothing innovative here. Gotten heavier, costs more. I do like the extra capacity with the added length. The dashboard just gets in the way. Guess I'll stay with my nine-year-old 120!
@ARCPaddleVa6 жыл бұрын
Well aren't you just full of rainbows and sparkled unicorns. This is the new 125, so it is a little heavier. But to your point, the old Pungo is an excellent paddlecraft, no doubt. Enjoy!
