I too am a veteran performer of this song, I was a soloist as well, however I sang in a women's only choir and it sounds superior with the male voices!! Love it!! Memories from a long time ago!!!:)

We sang this in choir back when I was in 8th grade in Jr. High. It was 1998. I love the "came with a bound part." LMBO🤣🤣 That's my favorite part of this song. When we did the concert in December, and after the "bound" part, The whole audience started laughing. 25 years later it's still funny.

At choir teacher had officially told us that we are doing this song for our Winter concert. When I saw this I was amazed and terrified at the same time due to our teacher saying that we are going to have to be exactly like that when we do the concert...

I found this this am and it took me fifty years back. I sang this in elementary school choir when I was in fourth or fifth grade. We dressed in PJ's and robes and stood, sat and lay around the stage. I remembered every note and every word. It's wonderful how things like this stay with you. Enjoy, everybody! record it for your kids and grandkids.

Bell High School Choir performed this every year during the 1950’s! I was in The music classes every year that I attended this school! I, however missed performing this song, I don’t know why, but it has forever been a favorite of mine! This performance is magnificent!

OMG!!!!!!! OMG!!!!! We sang this song in 4th and 5th grad choir and sound so much like this choir but in kids voices much higher. Tears are in my eyes, like it reminded me of us but we were small kids. We had the best choir teacher ever. 🥰🥰🥰👍🏾

When I was in junior high, the choir sung this with the most amazing tenor soloist. Since it wasn’t done with orchestra (which I was in), I got to totally enjoy the entire work…this brings back so many great memories!

OMGosh...I have not heard that song in about 38 years. I performed that song in the first ever Christmas Choir for my grammer school. The words and melody are exactly as I remember them...although their showmanship is much better than a bunch of 4th graders were able to perform. Thank you for such a wonderful memory. We finally found someone who did this song! I have not heard this song performed since we sang it in our grade school Christmas play way back when. The Utes must have a heck of a music program. The only minor quibble I have is that Dr. Allred should have had the male voices lighten their tone a bit, for a more contemporary sound. The baritone soloist has a fantastic voice. The score has the solo at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="300">5:00</a> for soprano, if I recall correctly, but I think it works even better with a tenor.

Great! This is one of my favorite Xmas songs, and noone ever plays it. I hadnt heard this in years, so I decided to look for it on KZbin and was very pleased to find this. Excellent performance, made even better by the little humorous nuances and the general liveliness and bubblyness of the young performers.

We did a fantastic SSAA version of this in junior high girls' ensemble that one of our choir teachers arranged. Tight harmony all the way through, in similar style to the Chordettes version of Mr. Sandman. This was an awesome performance, but I sure would love to hear that SSAA version done again sometime!

One of my chiors is doing this song. We're not as big and we have maybe half of the first row at the beggining. I hope that even though we are small in comparison, our group (still waiting to be named) will have half as much fun as this chior did while performing it. Thanks for the inspiration!! You most likely have listened to the Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians song of the poem. It was recorded in 1942. The music was written by Ken Darby and the musical arrangements were done by Harry Simeone.
