@@gamermapper Your claim is ridiculous! But actually this movie of Cohen is totally anti-slavic! The Kazakhs are not meant at all, but Slavs! Kazakhs look Asian, the guy doesn't look like a Kazakh at all, but like a European. He also speaks a Slavic language, namely Polish and not Kazakh. What is meant is the Slavic Russian minority in Kazakhstan, which makes up 25% of the population. He acts as if he were a Russian, that is, a Slav. Including the usual disgusting clichés and prejudices. He want to kill gypsies because it is said that the Slavic nations despise minorities. Anti-Semitic, of course. What is meant are Slavs, because there are no Gypsies in Kazakhstan and hardly any Jews. The guy is shown as inferior, as Slavs are often portrayed in Western media, including Hollywood as inferior.It's all supposed to work subconsciously in this disgusting movie. People don't realize at all that this is anti-Slavic propaganda that works subconsciously. I have supplemented my comment with the arguments from the comment below because there were obviously ambiguities.

And Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit is part of the Deutschlandlied. Its just only the third stanza. The BRD (FRG) had the full song as its anthem until 1990, but only sang the third stanza, because the main goal for it was to achieve the german unification, replace the "Grundgesetz" with a "Verfassung", rename it and let the entirety of the german people give them their own constitution.

Bigger correction: It's a regular stanza from the German national hymn written in 1841 and has absolutely nothing to do with National Socialism.
@RayvenGuard3 жыл бұрын
The song wasn't written by the Nazis, but from today's perspective, it certainly has a lot to do with national socialism. The Weimar Republic initially adopted all 3 stanzas of the song as its anthem in their original meaning. The Nazis only used and still use the first stanza, while misinterpreting the meaning of it. The Federal Republic eventually adopted only the third stanza as the national anthem. So today the first stanza is neither part of the national anthem of the Federal Republic, and the only ones who still sing it are neo-Nazis.
@aurorasdawn46813 жыл бұрын
@@RayvenGuard That's not true. As you said, the Nazis only sang the first stanza in conjunction with the Horst-Wessel-Lied while singing the third stanza was forbidden by law. A song written about a guys dream of a united germany with what he though was its borders that became the national anthem and then permanently tainted by facist idiots that saw the dream as a "suggestion" for conquests and reinterpreted the meaning of "Germany above all" from Germany unity above every small german state to Germany above all states everywhrere.... The enitre song kind of is a good representation of german history the past 100+ years though. The first stanza reminds us today of the nazis and their crimes, the second one is just a filler for the few times nothing happend in germany and there was peace and prosperity while the last one is the symbol that unity and democracy arent a given and have to be fought for, but in the end will prevail :)

I have to make a correction here. The first stanza (also the second) is NOT forbidden, you can sing it in Germany in public as well. The first one is not sung because it has connotations with Nazi past but also because it mentions Germany going from the "Meuse to the Memel" -- but Germany has not had a border on the Memel River since 1945. The second one is just weird and isn't good for an anthem (mostly talks about German women being the most beautiful in the world or something). The third one is about stuff that's more appropriate for a democratic country like freedom and unity and therefore something Germans can be proud to sing. Let me cite the important paragraph here: "Although it had originally a kind of different meaning and it has to be seen in the context of achieving unity (before the 1870 empire and before the 1848 revolution)." My point is that specifically because of its usage as a propaganda tool in both world wars and its contamination by the nazi party, in conjunction with the text of the song being outdated, it isnt used anymore and is, although not outright banned, shunned from (german) society. While "Deutschland über Alles" originally proclaimed that the most important (political) goal/thing is to achieve a united Germany (which did not exist before 1870/71) it completely changed its meaning after this innitial goal/topic was achieved and since the reports from the Westfront in 1914 it is directly linked to German hypernationalism, imperialism and alures to world domination and supremacy.

@hannofranz79733 жыл бұрын
The third stanza isn't that recent. It was a political decision after the second world war to turn Tage third into the official text. The other two - even though not officially forbidden - were politically vetoed. It is true that the first two had been composed long before the NS-regime. The text alluded to claiming a common German spirit among the territories settled by Germans against feudal oppression of those times praising the Germanic virtues. The text wasn't suitable anymore claiming Germany above all extending from a river in the east to a river in the west, from the south to the north - none of them in present day Germany. Emphasizing the German woman and the German wine in the second one was also an exaltation of features that reminded of claiming to be somehow superior to te rest of the world. This is why the first and the second stanza are ill-regarded in Germany.

6:53 Not illegal. That would be weird if it were illegal because the full song - including the first stanza - WAS the anthem of Germany until 1991. When it was played for official purposes they only used the 3rd but the full song WAS the official anthem. This changed in 1991 and since then its only the 3rd stanza that is officially the anthem. @@freyalarsen6233 all those hymns used by monarchies are not exactly symbols of the countries, like e.g. flags are. They are prayers for the health and success of the monarch: "God Save the King", "Gott erhalte unsern Kaiser", "Боже, Царя храни" (God Save the Czar) etc. That's why they often use the same or similar melodies in different countries, and the lyrics are standard. Distinguishing countries or national cultures is not their function, just praying for the monarch. Probably it's more correct to call them hymns (like religious chants), not anthems.

I am German and I can tell you that it is allowed to sing all three verses. Of course, the 3rd stanza is the correct and official national anthem, but the songs of the Germans, as they are all three together, are allowed to be sung. They are all allowed and legal. Both in public and in private. But it's not right because only the third one is right.
@yannickurbach56543 жыл бұрын
@@lorenzopippia5257 The third stanza is the most beautiful by far, both in terms of content and poetically. Which makes sense, as it's the finale to the whole song. And since only one stanza of an anthem is sung/played most of the time anyways (how often have you heard the other stanzas of The Star-Spangled Banner? Or the Marseillaise?), I'm glad it's the third one for Germany. It's just odd how many think that the other stanzas are banned, just because they're not part of the national anthem.
