I was fully expecting Donny to pick up that fork horn antler he walked over at 7.50. I'm so impressed with you guys scent control. Having an animal walk right past you at 3 yards and not smell you five day into the hunt. I know Johns feet would have gotten you busted if he hadn't aired them out earlier. lol

That was awesome. I would give almost anything to be that close to a bull! Having not gotten an elk yet, I would've had no problem taking that guy. But it was cool to see Donny's restraint!

AWESOME EPISODE! We love the lonely Jimmy! My brother and I had a similar season. Started off slow and then it picked up at the end. It was his day to shoot when lonely Jimmy answered my call and came in on a string! Always fun having the close encounters even if there is no shot taken. I am still impressed with the country you are in. Beautiful! I'm amazed by how much it looks like Idaho.

@jayrobertson232 Though I live in Idaho now, Originally I'm from Southern Indiana. I used to travel to Michigan to hunt grouse. It was in Michigan decades ago I first seen elk in the wild and I was hooked. A good sized bull was less than 10 feet from me as I was looking for grouse. That trip meant a lot to me. I love Northern Michigan and I used to love hunting and fishing there.

I know what you mean. I drew a pretty special deer tag and passed up several smaller deer in hopes for harvesting a larger mature one. I was fortunate enough to harvest a deer. It wasn't the biggest I saw, but the situation was pretty cool. My buddy rattled him up for me. We had just set up and I was still ranging things in front of me when my buddy got my attention. A buck responded to the rattling and was literally running to us. The situation is what made it really a special hunt and I was more than happy with the deer.
