Excellent. Any video without 'music' deserves bonus points. Thank you.

This is very helpful! I am flying from Tokyo to Toronto next month to catch a Raptors game. Wasn't sure what to expect in terms of public transportation, but this was very useful. Thanks!

As for the "Strange semi-open tunnel", this may well be to keep water out. Toronto sits on a big mud bath for the most part. Likewise the western part of the Bloor-Danforth subway line. Much of it is in a pipe -again to keep water out! However in the vicinity of Union station the terrain is different. there it is hard rock and it can be seen when traveling the Yonge-University subway around that area. The train will squeek and squeal as it passes the sharp bends bweetween King st. and Front, then from Front though to University and Osgoode Looking out thw indoes there you will see the hewn rock faces, but not elsewhere.. IOn that trip you will paoss 2 rivers, Indian Creek and the Humber river. Yes, Canada has water!!

More likely structural, to keep the lateral walls from collapsing inward while saving cost on robustness of the walls. If the internal struts were not there, likely the walls may have needed to be much thicker and at significant financial price. As part of the tunnel is covered, I suspect this was likely another roadway that passed over the tracks and earthworks on either side were graded up to support the overpass, thus necessitating more robust walls.

Unfortunately due to the restrictions on unnecessary travel due to COVID-19, I will not be filming any videos on board public transportation for a while. Please visit ttc.ca to view the bus and subway routing from Pearson airport to Union station. Enjoy your trip!

If you buy tickets in advance through your phone when should you activate them? Also, do you just scan your phone against the reader as oppose to your ticket? Sorry for the stupid questions it’s my first time in Toronto.
@ThresholdProductionsCanada6 жыл бұрын
A Metrolinx (UP Express) worker will be there to validate your ticket before you get on the train. (I would assume your mobile ticket has a barcode) The scanners are only for Presto card (metrocard) users. If you have more questions about your ticket, speak with one of the workers at the station (they wear black shirts with either UP Express or Metrolinx printed on them). Enjoy your time in Toronto!

I have a 6 hour layover from Toronto to the UK. Would that give me enough time to take the UP Express to Union Station and do about 2 hours of sightseeing before heading back to the airport?
@ThresholdProductionsCanada6 жыл бұрын
KernelFactory Considering the trip takes only about 25 minutes, you would technically have enough time. I don’t know the details of your trip, but if you’re coming in and don’t have to clear customs or claim luggage, you should be downtown about 1hr after disembarking your first flight. YYZ is usually very slow with baggage claim so if you have to pick up your luggage it might be more like 1.5-2hrs until you get downtown. So in short, yes, you should be able to make it, but be quick downtown! There’s a lot to see!

can anyone tell me how much was the ticket from the airport to the city traveling with the rail. Im from the USA
@the-chipette4 жыл бұрын
Chico Suave it’s about $13 for a one way ticket. You’re better off buying a Presto card ($6) and putting $40 on it. It’s only $9.25/way on the express train with one.
@Absolute_Zero74 жыл бұрын
To add on what the other guy said, this is in CAD so in USD it would be about $7-$11 depending on either presto or ticket.

Great video! Very informative. I stayed at the Alt Hotel right at Pearson and saw that train go by everyday. I drove to Toronto from Detroit so I had my own car. Now I know how it works. May I ask a question? What were you using to record this vid? It had great quality. Thx!

Good video. You should not have focused so close because you have cut off what could have been a nicer scenery. Too much focussing done inwards and it appears too close to the walls. Thanks anyway.

islandgirl3330 unfortunately due to the device I recorded it on, the iPhone 6, I had no choice on the focal length. I almost always use a DSLR with an 18-55mm lens to film my latest videos though! Check them out on my channel, let me know what you think!

Just before yo arrive at the Weston Station the train passes over the Historic Weston Golf Course-where Arnold Palmer won his first PGA tournament. The members weren't too happy about that bridge. It's kind of sad to see so few people in the main lobby of Union Station. The lower level seems to get most of the people.

Glad to see a video where annoying teenage girls weren't talking at the top of their lungs. I was able to actually hear the motor accelerating and going through the gears. Also, I live along one of CSX's main lines, and the nighttime speed is 110 km/h, and one was rocketing by while I was watching this video. It felt like I was RIDING the train.
