What I really love about this piece is the story it tells without words; even without the wonderful animation behind it, you just *know* what's happening. At the beginning, the piece is sprightly. The piece dances along, with accent notes and tons of notes that glide up and down the scale with ease. It conveys this sense of youthful love. However, it ever so slowly creeps to a lower tempo around half way through. Then the accent notes disappear, and then the classic waltz beat in the left hand slows, and the listener finally realizes what happened ... Absolutely gorgeous.

Recently my girlfriend whom i've had the strongest bond with, broke up with me...or what we gotta call "it's better to be best friends instead of lovers". We're still best friends, just how we were before we got together and i don't know how to feel. Nothing really changed. Just the 'I love you's are gone and our nicknames for each other. Nothing else really changed that much. We never got to watch movies together that much because we couldn't concentrate on anything else besides each other. But she always played 'Married Life' on her ukulele for me. She loves this song. I have seen 'Up' only once when i was younger. When i told her we planned to watch this movie but we never got to it. We also planned a further future. I know it sounds dumb but we just...trust each other a lot and we trust each other about our dreams the most. We wanted to go to an art college together, she music and me art. We wanted to move into a small apartment where music would flow thru each room everyday and the smell of acrylics would stain the air. We wanted to get a fluffy cat and a cuddly dog. We wanted to make enough money to just let this world go. She was the first one that made me want to have something bigger with someone. I never wanted to be a parent in the future because the idea of kids grossed me out since i have 3 siblings myself. But she made me want to raise and leave something for this world that was just ours. Because I knew she'd be the greatest and most gentle mom. The most loving and warm. I wanted to see her in a white dress one day too. She wanted me to design something pretty for her. That she could dance in and kiss me in. It doesn't matter how long or short you're with a person. When you create memories even tho you never experienced them it's hard to let go of that future. By now i don't know what to do again. I'm not even sure if i want to go to art school anymore because even though it's my passion i can't...quite find that passion without her anymore. Because I can't get as much love into any piece i make like i got love into her. I don't know when i'll get over her. She'll be gone in 2 months to all around the globe for 2 years. I won't see her. And I don't know if i even get to see her before that because at the moment we're stuck at home again. A piece of my heart is still in my hands as long as she's still here. But as soon as she leaves it'll be taken away from me too. She'll pursue her happiness and she'll be a completely different person when she comes back so i don't have hope. I want her to be happy because that's the promise we made as best friends a long time ago. We'll try our best to have the other happy so we can be happy ourselves. She's a person that isn't that emotional. I only ever saw her geniue laugh a few hundreth times and crying maybe trice. But I can be happy. Because no one else made her this much happy while we were together. She told me a few days ago. At least i made her happy and i made her cry even though it's hard for her to experience either. I hope she'll bloom within the sun. I hope i'll collect my heart. I hope i'll stop hoping and i don't know when i'll stop loving her. But I hope i can listen to this song one day without crying.

It may feel dreary now, but the world does begin to look up if you just believe in your own happiness. You need to find a way to get rid of the codependency (speaking as a codependent person) and try your best to move forward a happy person. It’ll come, just give it time

I was born in 2015. This was a great movie when I watched it with my grandma. Unfortunately, she passed away. This was her favourite song, so I listened to it daily when I was sad. I think about her and the great times we had. Rest in peace; she will be remembered.
@bronycrafter15262 жыл бұрын
I love this song, the first part is so whimsical and carefree, but as it gets towards the middle, it slows and begins to fall apart, as life and age began to catch up with them, especially Ellie, and even starts to echo, beginning to sound like the good times are fewer and farther between, but reaching the end, after Ellie passes in the movie, the song seems to fully fall apart, as the notes are more spaced and last longer, they even kind of sound hollow, like the good times are all but a distant and hollow memory, the happiness of being with her in those moments has been replaced with the sorrow and irrational anger that they can't ever happen again

It’s starts out as a young happy married couple, they have kids and the kids grow old and have their own families then the couple is old walking together and one passes away. There’s a pause in the air as if time has stopped... but the other carries on with all the memories their lives consisted of and it was all so blissful. The last chord is a happy one for the other passed as well and now sees their loved one on the hill who has been waiting all that time for them to arrive. God Bless you reading this. Life isn’t about living old, but sharing the good so that keeps living on. Beautiful piece of music.

You clearly did not watch the movie haha. It's a song from the beginning of the movie "Up". The last chord is literally the opposite, it's at the moment the man comes back home by himself (for the first time) when his wife died. The vibe is 200% dark and depression. The entire movie is actually about dealing with grief.

Maybe on a symbolic way, but her chords are not "removed", its close to the same pattern but 1-2 octaves higher. But you're right that it does feel this way. It almost feels like he tries to play her chords for her (simpler, slower and on a higher pitch, were he usually plays).

it makes us realize that at the beginning (our youth) we can say that life is all about having fun. but when you grow old that realization will be hard to admit. Cause i believe that as we grow old we cant appreciate happiness like before, as we tend to lose things that build up our very own existence . And by that alone its hard to find a reason to keep on living. I keep lying to myself saying I'm okay but deep inside i'm not and so I smile to hide the pain inside. I hope I can find someone else feels the same way I do. Me: Do I still need to live? (I'm just 15 btw) I think Im the only one who didn't change cause they've all left me behind. it's like they're not the same person I grew up with. I know some say it's maturity but for me, I think that they just want to look mature and strong and try to look cool in front of others. I needed them but they're not the buddies that I knew before. well the world changed how could they not. it's hard to live.

A woman was living across a children’s hospital. Some days she could hear children’s cries coming from the hospital. Every time she heard cries, she went to her piano and started playing this. Then the cries would stop. The children are now looking by their windows looking at the beautiful skies while listening to the woman playing the piano. One day she cried because of how hard life was for her, while in the opposite, the children were laughing and smiling because of the little bit of happiness the woman brought to them.

This is still one of the prettiest songs Disney Pixar has ever put in a film... No matter how many times I cry... Definitely too 3 to me!

"Alright, see you at school tommorow!" "Got it. Are you gonna be on?" "Definitely." *last online 10 years ago* *best friend has been gone for 10 years, only to find he has died. The school never revealed it.* *20 years later...* "It's been thirty years, man. I miss you." *knocking on door* "Honey, get the door!" "Ok.." *opens door* "DANIEL?!"

I see the change of emotions from happy to sad, like this is like a deep message to ones who is living their life the fullest, especially the married ones.. Always appreciate your life, sometimes there are the times you succeed, and times you fall, but you should live your life the fullest no matter what, so you won't regret anything

You can feel the story through the music, at first it was bright and lively resembling the thrill of getting married. It gradually slows down, as time passes the wife’s health condition deteriorates and the husband is left on his own.

I’m a guy who never cries and never really feels like it even at the worst of times but this song and the thought of Carl and Ellie’s life makes me so close to shedding a tear because I used to fear death when I was little and stopped and never cared about death after that but i always end up wanting to be with the people I love as much as possible because even though I do t fear death or how long I have I do fear losing people I love before me.

I saw this on another post. The song starts with the left hand playing a note then 2 chords. I think it symbolizes a heartbeat. This part is supposed to represent Ellie’s heart. At the end of the song it ends with one chord which is when Ellie’s dies and the right hand is Carl’s heart beat. So the entire song is Carl’s and Ellie’s hearts being happy before she finally passes away.
