We explore the bridge to bridge track on the Turon River at Sofala between Wallaby Rocks and Coles Bridge.
Amazing campsites, fishing for cod and a wrong turn that leaves us up the creek without a snorkel.

Great video ! I have fished all of that river from the wallaby rocks campground down past the next bridge and most of it up through to Turon gates - we had to walk it because back in the late 80s there were few if any 4wd tracks there , the river was full of trout and the river was way more overgrown . If you notice the old suspension bridge on the side of the road at Sofala , when I first went there it was still in use - we used to walk across it to get back to our camp after drinking the pub dry 😂 Then the flood came and washed th bridge away , the whole river changed and it was like paradise! Fire wood everywhere , new rapids to fish and the area next to the road bridge at Sofala (opposite the big hole )was turned into a giant sand bar which was way better than camping on river rocks ! If you watch an old movie called sirens it has some footage that was shot in the pub at Sofala and the people sitting at the bar are not actors - they are the real locals that were always sitting there whenever we went there - they would just stare at us as we walked in .
