Seen those tents many times in other (non-amateur radio) videos. They seem pretty neat. Enjoy that tent! 73!

You, Scout75, and Izzo can do IHOTA - Ice Huts On The Air. Looks like a well made ice hut/tent. 🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮

Nice tent....Dont you love when someone calls you and when you answer them they dont answer back...what are they waiting for...did they fall asleep

I think you were referring to the first contact. I mixed up the last letter of the first stations callsign with the first letter of the second station’s callsign. So what I read back was wrong, that was why there was a delay in response by the first station. It is entirely possible that you might cross paths with another station with a similar callsign like that. That was why the first station waited in case there was another station. Thank you for watching.

Would it be easier to setup if you anchor a corner or 2 first? Also, are you going to start FLOTA (Frozen Lakes On The Air)? To use that tent as it was intended? 😉

That is a good idea, thank you for sharing. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it, it has not gotten cold enough here for long enough to safely go out on. So we will just have to stick with IHOTA (Ice Huts On The Air) until we get some colder weather. 😉

Is there enough space for 2 people to be operating, one at the rig the other logging? Thinking winter field day? De AD0L

I think there is enough room to fit two people in the shelter with room for gear and a heater if needed. Eskimo has larger shelters, but then you have to think about the volume of air that you would need to warm up. So it can be a trade off between the number of people and how comfortable you want to be. Thank you for watching... 🌮🌮🌮

I wonder how well an Ft-991, ic-7300, or ft-891 would heat that tent on FT-8? 😂

That is an interesting thought. I used to do JT65 back in the day and because of the 60 second transmission cycle, I used to set off the fans after 4 or 5 back to back QSOs. I have both the 991a and 7300 and cannot honestly tell you when i heard the fans kicked in on either radio.
