Thank you for the wonderful lecture.My brother who is three years younger to me used to chant purushsuktam from the age of 11 or12 I used to like and admire it but did not know the meaning as I did not know Sanskrit then.Now with your beutiful explanation I get a very clear picture of the great purushsuktam .Enjoyed and learnt so many things .

What here they recite is Yajur veda Purusha suktham. Moreover, if you read the last before sloka in purusha suktham , you can see these words - hreeshcha the lakshimeecha pathniyau - means - the purusha described here is the lord who is having the consorts as bhoodevi and sridevi.

Dear Dushyanth Sridhar, Can you please add subtitles to this in English? I cam here after seeing your excellent Purusha Suktam (meaning in English) video on Apparao galleries - but was left wanting for more as the last 40 minutes was noticeably hurried. Can you please post more videos on the meaning of Purusha Suktam in English? Perhaps even an English translation of Sayanacharya's famous commentary on Purusha Suktam (I have the reprint of his Sanskrit 15th century original book, but alas, I cannot understand Sanskrit). Adbhyahssambhūh prithivyai rasāca l VishwakarmaNassamavartatādhi l Tasya Twashtā vidadhadrūpamēti l Tatpurushasya vishwamājānamagrē ll Is there any mention of Brahma, Vishnu, or Maheshwara in the "Purusha Sukta" in creation of this universe? According to the above verse, is it not Vishwakarma who created the entire universe? Please clarify my doubt. (Not Devashilpi Vishwakarma )
