Upchurch is real Country, the new stuff is mainstream and record labels. Upchurch is independent and has freedom over his music as the record label you do what the label tells you.

Yeah I'm an ole country boy from a small town, my music was country, but when I was 12 I got my first radio/8 track, it gave more style of music. I love soul, FUNK. In fact when I started driving I would bunk my funk and soul favs, it even got me in a few fights. Back then I wasn't the one to mess with. Livin on a farm there was always work to do. From planting seeds, bringing in the crops. Bailing hay, slinging hay, bulldogging cows and holding them down so Grandpa could brand them. Then playing football, wrestling and weight lifting teams. All this made me a heck of a young man. When I was 14 I beat my father butt for shoving my mother onto the sofa. I do regret that today. Many moons have passed and those days have broken this body down and made me a disabled mess, I'm just happy to still be around. I wouldn't change my hard life for anything, I would be pleased to live it all again. Only changing one night in 1985, the night I lost my world, my life. When a drunk driver ran a red light and killed my lovely wife and unborn baby. Rip Janice I still miss you and our baby, Love always.
