Hmmm, I've owned single shot, bolt, pump, rotary, semi-automatic, and automatic "action" firearms, but never an "assault" action. What the hell is that? I gotta go get one. ("Assault" is the description of a weapon invented by the Germans during World War Two that gave the individual soldier a higher capacity of ammunition to be loaded into a weapon at any one time. Then the term became common when the AK-47 was invented by the Russians in the late 40's. A little education of firearms history by BOTH sides of the anti-gun argument would be a good idea) The funny thing is, no matter if guns are banned or not, it's legal in almost every state to walk in someplace and purchase a flame-thrower. Apparently alot of people don't know that full-auto rifles were banned back in '86... *sigh* You can own them, but you need lots of money and have to be properly licensed, something that should have never been allowed to happen because THAT itself is unconstitutional. Good Lord folks, some of the most uninformed people I've ever listened to in my life!! Listen ya'll, take note, the "fully automatic weapon" was manufactured for the military only in times of war. It's sole purpose was & still is a way to kill as many of the enemy as possible in one minute. That said, no private citizen would, should or could have sane reason to even own one. Fully automatic weapons, to be brutally honest, should only be available & used by our military in times of war .... PERIOD!! lmfao, I live in Upstate NY and NY state is rediculous with some of these laws, not the worst state in this aspect but right up close to the top of the list. I have 3 safes with my firearms and ammunition not a single time have any of my firearms just went bang by itself. the masses believe whatever the MEDIA tells them theres tons of videos on youtube as prime examples of politicians that clearly have no clue what they are talking about when it comes to firearms including the media. Yea I live in that part of NY, people dont call the cops here we handle things our way. lol. Sry I got a little sidetracked but I also love how people also say no assualt weapons but shotguns are ok, hmm lets think about this so I can load up my Remington 1100 with #4 buckshot and each shells holds 27 .24in diameter pellets 5.56mm diameter bullets are .22in with a 30 round mag in an AR you can dump 30 rounds pretty quick but now my Remington 12ga holds 5 shells and its semi auto i can squeeze off 5 rounds with that a lot faster than an AR15. and 12ga #4 buckshot is a cloud of lead 5 shots back to back is 135 lead pellets that their diameter is bigger than that of a 556 AR but shotguns are ok lets been Sport rifles. lol the point is more damage can be done with a shotgun than a rifle. the misinformed masses. a Japanese Admiral said the American mainland could never succesfully be invaded becuase there would be an American with a firearm behind every blade of grass, not the exact quote but my point on that is firearms do more than just hunt, and protect OUR homes, To Protect OUR Neigbors and the innocent and defensless. I would bet that if something catostrophic happened in the US the ones chanting ban all guns will be the first to look for the ones with guns for protection. just my 2 cents. The problem with this statement is regular civilians can't buy automatic weapons. You have to have security clearance and level 4 training and a way to obtain said weapon. An AR-15 is nothing but a glorified .22 rifle that fires as fast as you can pull the trigger. A grenade is dangerous. A "full auto assault weapon" is only possessed by the government. They may need rapid fire. Regular civilians don't have access to this. It's not gun control. It's mentally unstable people that don't understand these things. It's so hard to get a fully automatic gun it is damn near illegal already. They are confusing semi automatic with automatic and semis can only shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger which is 90% of guns. AR does not stand for assault rifle or automatic rifle. It means armalite. I'm sure this has all been said below though. By the way stop believing misleading stats. Most gun deaths are suicide, done by handguns, many are illegally owned, and there are the ones done in self defense as well. School shooters are very rare and not the main people who commit mass shootings in the US, and in those mass shootings the guns are already illegal or the govt didn't do their job right. I could keep going for days. I think every American (who legally is eligible) should own a gun and educate themselves on gun safety and their right to bare arms. The deal with shotguns is that they dont realize that with the right load in the gun. Its actually more dangerous then an AR-15 . one shot from an AR 15 one bullet. Shot gun one pull of the trigger no less then 9 bullet or buck shot comes out the end . think about that for a second. The possibility of 9 people can get hurt or killed by a shot gun. Its called 00 buck shot , google it . and as an ex con my self . Go ahead and ban all guns lol . make it alot easier targets for those rapest and robbers and kidnappers , guns is what keeps you all safe . although, haveing a saw off shot gun was my crime . I will not hide the truth from you all. Ban those guns and your on the list of target of easy and fast get away.

Actually 00 has 15 pellets in a 3 inch shell and 18 pellets in a 3 1/5 inch supermag. Effective range of about 100 yards with a full choke. If you have the balls to try it, you can take down a bear up to around 40 yards
