Well a restraining didnt help my close friend who ended up taking his own life 2 years ago after his ex girlfriend killed his dog, and left its mutilated corpse on his front step. Nice fancy piece of paper he had, saying "Look lady, you cannot come within 500 yards of his residence, or 500 feet of his person." I owe my own life to the Smith and Wesson M&P40 i keep holstered on my waist. Ever seen what happens a 1,100 pound bull moose gets a brain parasite, and goes vicious? If anyone wants to give you hell all they have to do is call the child protection agency and report to them that they think you may be abusing your children. If that happens all hell will break loose on you. Your rights will be violated and they will rummage through your house and question your children and then when they don’t find anything they will wait a little while and come back for a recheck. All this because someone had it out for you and wanted to mess with you. I know several people this had happened to and the ones who reported them are anonymous and will never be held accountable. I never was particularly interested in AR15's and the like, but with all the gun control talk, I went ahead and bought one last week. I decided on the Armalite SPR Mod 1, a plain base model that I can customize. The .223 is just a .22 with a BUNCH of powder behind it, resulting in a .22 bullet that travels at about 3500 fps. Anyway, the AR platform turns out to be fun, modular, and highly customizable. I have to thank David Hogg for introducing me to the AR! Thanks!

The NRA is a powerful force in Washington, claiming a grassroots membership of nearly 5 million Americans. The group is responsible for a lion’s share of contributions from gun lobbyists - and the money has gone disproportionately to Republicans. Record election spending The nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics estimated that during the 2016 election, the NRA and its affiliates spent a record $54m to secure Republican control of the White House and Congress, including at least $30.3m to help elect Donald Trump. But experts have caution that the relationship between contributions from pro-gun groups and Congress’ reticence to change the nation’s gun laws is complicated at best. The NRA accounts for just a fraction of the contributions lawmakers receive, and the group doesn’t crack the top 50 in terms of spending to the lobby the federal government. This has happened to me, I am a Combat Veteran suffering from PTSD. Well, I admitted myself into the hospital because of it yet, never tried to harm myself just to later find out that, my Second Amendment was suspended ! Now I have to fight just to have my Second Amendment Right re instated. When I served over seas in combat, they never had an issue with me carrying a AR-15 and an M9 pistol ! Damocles54 alot of car companies added a false muffler where they purposely only checked the emissions for the false muffler. Showing a emissions decrease when really there was no change except a phony muffler.

How about when a man reports his ex girlfriend as "a danger to herself" so that he can come visit without worrying about her defending herself? @@lordkrythic6246 Honestly, I don't feel like I currently need one, I have little shooting experience (didn't grow up in that kind of family), and I currently don't have the time/money for one. It's just not a high priority at the moment. Thank you, though, for your suggestion! I would prefer something small (and not a lot of recoil, if such a gun exists), so that's a good starting point.

@@lianakriebel Just so you know, the smaller a gun is, the more recoil it will have. I conceal carry a Glock 19. It's sort of the best of both worlds, small enough to be concealable, yet large enough to reduce recoil. A Glock 43 is about 25% smaller than a Glock 19, but naturally, has greater recoil. You can get a Glock 43 for about $400. And there is another brand, which if I remember correctly, is the Smith and Wesson version of a Glock. They're cheaper than a Glock, but look exactly the same. Smith and Wesson actually got sued by Glock because they essentially stole the patent. Everytime S&W sells one of those guns, they have to pay Glock $15. I'm mainly just wanting to point out that cheaper options to exist. I spent $519 on my Glock 19. Best money I've ever spent. You never need a gun until you need one, and by that time it's probably too late.

The M&P shield is also a good option, or maybe look into a .380, there are plenty of good choices that are perfect for conceal, either pocket or purse, the thing you want most is the one that feels the best in your hand and the gun that feels the easiest for you to shoot.

How is that California restraining order even constitutional. I could never get a warrant based on the word of another as a law enforcement officer. Warrants are issues on probable cause not some mere suspicion of law breaking.
