For the armor it has been featured in DQotS previously too. If you want a short explanaiton on the red armor (kinda spoilerish I guess if you want to read the manga even tho it happen very early on) : both the protagonist and antagonist are descendants of Roto, the protagonist get the real blue armor, but the antagonist get a cursed version of the armor that is red. It's a very short version, but I want to avoid spoilers, this is a VERY good manga that everyone should read if they can. Now for why it was promoted alongside the game, well it's a pretty cheap way of selling more merch for one thing, but they could also easily use the gimmick in the manga and make an extra boss that wear that red armor in a post-game dungeon or something.

Funny you should mention Mark of Erdrick. Me, some of my boys (Hammer Brother, Paper Hammer Brother, Joe Kritter, Jared, Dak, Sword Unit 99, Jimbo, Charlie, Gideon, Caleb, Fred, Ted, Jesse, Metal Face/Mumkhar, Jarvis, his Shadows, Booga, Jasper, Master Kohga, Sooga, Dark Taranza, Kamawhite, Spear Guy Bob, Wooley, Casey Ice, Infermorenus, Sly, Bo Jangles, Langley, Sid, Johnny, Rambo, and others like Nelson and Flash), and the various monsters from Baramos and Zoma’s army (Stark Ravens, Bunicorns, Batterfiles, Toadies, Betterfiles, Toxic Toads, Overtoads, Killerpillars, Illerpillars, Grillerpillars, Waspions, Rumble Bees, Scornets, Prestidigitators, Infanticores, Shell Slimes, Seaslimes, Crabids, Crabber Dabber Doos, Handsome Crabs, and others like Restless Armours) had thoughts of what a modern version would look like as an anime in a similar vein to The Adventure of Dai. I can totally imagine various monsters from Dragon Quest VII, VIII, IX, X, and XI making appearances in it (Fright Bulbs, Cruelcumbers, Succubats, Lamplings, Blue Moons, Bushy Babies, Giruffians, Hyperboarens, Riptides, Iron Maidens, Wooper Troopers, Salamaruders (Remember, the Riptide’s bestiary entry from IX stated they were Salamaruders who trained intensely and became these Rhapthorne minions), Chariot Chappies, and other monsters such as Needlers and Napirs). Not to mention I wonder how the various scenes in the manga would go down, particularly the final battle with Imajin and the corruption of Alan to Jagan.

In spanish is already done so i read it that way it is super important that fans read it because its actualy wrriten by yuji hori and its part of the canon of the games its after the events of DQ3 and in the middle of DQ1 btw in this manga the classes in it like warrior sage and monk are the strongest versions of them in the series like the sage has something the games dont have mágic fusion spell and monk funny ki yeah i know cliché from dbz lol and warrior has the ability pizaro has he can use cursed equipment

My theory would be that DQXII would be an “All-Stars” RPG where all the previous protagonists would join the new one to fight the new villain from the world of Darkness. I predict it would be released in Summer 2026, for Dragon Quest’s 40th anniversary.
