Wow, so I was just getting in to naval and looking forward to using some light cruisers without losing all of my SL. Thanks gaijibbles for changing that. I took a break from Warthunder because they made it impossible to gain SL in air RB and tank RB, and I only came back for naval, but looks like they fucked that too. Guess I’m going to have to make my break permanent.

Having done a video on this myself yesterday it is interesting to see your views on this. I also took the time to copy all the RB data into my own spreadsheet and it sadly the case that apart from the B29 (in 9th spot) the top ten highest vehicles to repair in the game are from the Bluewater fleet (ie Battleships and a few BC's). This more than anything is going to kill high-tier naval, not many will pay 40-60K SL to play such ships and players will see much less reason to get them too. This is before we talk about BR compression and the lag of naval EC.

This kills the naval. Literally no reason to play it, cruisers often get clapped by dreadnoughts at the start so you'll see a lot of -30k SL games. Unless you buy a premium ship and grind with that :))))

Well, just because your SL earnings doubled in tandem with your repair costs, doesn’t mean the economy stays the same. If I earned 40k SL a match and had to pay 15k SL in repair costs before, and I earn 80k SL and pay 30k in rc now, that still means my average earnings per game are going to go up 25k SL, or 100%. This is a great change!

The repair costs proportionately went up at a higher rate than the earnings did. It's not that all ships are an 80% more, lots of them got changes like a tenth more or a fifth more. Other than the premium cruisers everyone is going to be about the same or weaker.

It is not nice if you start out stock or still learning naval, like me playing light cruiser for Germany and are a f2p player which played since 2014, I will not afford getting rekt by battleships which I can’t scratch it will ruin my economy. So in the end I will have to go back to air RB were I can perform and at least have a slight profit. I will touch naval as soon as I can afford it

@@flippedstug9517 but even then your SL earnings are still increasing. Let’s take Baltimore for example, one of the ships worst affected by the economy change. It’s repair costs is going up over 3x from 6500 to 20k. If I made 15k base SL with the old modifier, I would earn 37500 SL per game, with a profit of 31000. Now that 15k base SL translates in 68k silver lions, minus the repair cost I would still make 48k profit. That is still a per battle profit increase in SL of 40%!

Premium repair costs have been reduced to a max of 2590 SL for 5.7 cruisers acros the board, whereas *most everything* bigger than a DD has been substantially increased. They've made it wallet-breaking to die in anything other than such vessels.

G'day StuG, Heh Chidori class Torpedo Boat to 13k sl at the same BR as Destroyers an larger Torpedo Boats with 10× cheaper repairs while also being free to get lol. Funny The most powerful ship the Ise class Dreadnought is cheaper than a Colossus class the only good Dreadnought for Great Britain, WTF is this... May as well switch to Imperial Russia for the their Dreadnoughts are as cheap as Battlecruisers while being more powerful in armour & broadsides lol.

Well, time to use the sale to get Belfast and Pola, use a lot of backups from the BP on them and get all bluewater fleet with premium because the repair is soo high that I would be afraid of using most ships now. I mean, unless the torpedo explosion get's fixed and the ammo rack stuff is reworked or made it less prone to happen, I really don't see the point in paying 50k Stock repair in a BB if I can just use my 2.6k repair cruiser or DD and still have fun without going bankrupt. BBs are Very strong at the moment, I do get that, but nuking them is soo easy as well, so with such repairs, I just can't feel like playing them anymore, even if SL is not huge issue with premium account and other areas of the game to make SL. I really think about players that don't have premium account, for most of them, this repair is absurd, totally not worth it, even with the extra income. And on top of that, it doesn't matter if you carried the team and did 20 kills, if the team loses, you will receive almost nothing compared to winning, this must be changed... In my humble opinion, almost, if not all SL changes are very bad for naval, this really made me disappointed. I hope that I'm wrong here, and hope Gaijin is actually preparing some big changes/fixes to justify such extreme SL changes, but, at least for now, I'm quite sad with it. Again, I hope that I'm wrong.

@@ammunition3371 Yeah, I know. In my opinion, all premium vehicles are only worth it at 50% price, doesn't matter which one they are. I already have all premium cruisers but Belfast and Pola, I'm sure I will get Belfast 50% off in the future, but maybe I will get Pola too, not 100% sure yet. My point is, with the new repair costs, only them are truly worth playing, specially for people without premium, which is not my case, but it's the case of some of my friends that keep hitting the SL wall from time to time, making the WT experience very bad for them...

Pola is bugged with excessive heeling when turning, take her for a test drive and do a hard turn, then do the same with other Heavy Cryisers like Prinz Eugen for example and you will notice it. I have bug reported it, but after 3 months they have not approved my bug report, they didnt even checked it out at all. Thats the kind of treatment Italian Navy gets in War Thunder

We all know that eventually they will receive battleships and more vessels, as well as fixing bugs like this one with Pola. I understand their point in giving more attention to the more commonly played nations first, I agree that it Is frustrating playing minor nations some times, but that is not an issue exclusive to Italy in game. Bug report does work, it takes some times to get fixed, we all know that. I also hope they fix Pola soon, but, to say the truth, at the moment, I'm more worried by the new repair changes. If such update also brings rework in the damage and spawn situation we have currently in naval, then I'm ok with it, but such increase in the repairs with what we currently have, that will simple make naval even harder for non premium players, and I really don't like it.

Gaijin clearly have no clue what they are doing. Changes seem like they have been made by some accountant given some random data, that has never seen what what they are destined for. My stash of 325 milion sl should make me imune to this kind of garbage, yet it still annoys me to heck and back , it's absurd to pay 58 000 SL to repair a british BB, wich is trash compared to the opposition. Matchmaker is complete garbage , i regularly face 3-4 battleships on the other side, while being the only one using a crap battlecruiser. Teams are full of one-death-quitters. Unless playing Maria/Poltava/Hyuga, all the other BB feel completely impotent. Since only that turd Smin1080p plays poorly his Hyuga once in a blue moon, providing some random data, no wonder this is the shit we get to " enjoy " .

i just wish the coastal fleet research and buy prices were way lower because it takes forever to grind through them while each of them only increase in br by .3 or even not at all, meanwhile i'm FLYING through my bluewater fleet and leaving the coastal fleet in the dust in terms of BR. the reason why i play the game is to ace every vehicle, and THEN i'll go back and just play my favorites (i love low tier derp tanks the most tbh. so much YEET). but until then, omg these FUCKING PT BOATS!!! I'll be so happy to get through these last 4 and never have to touch them again... until i finish acing the bluewater fleet and have to do the pt boats for the next nation :'D (I also search for custom skins every time i buy a new vehicle. and the pt boats are hated so much that only a few of them have skins, so i just go into the files myself and slap a layer of black over them with some yellow bits and call it a day lol)

@@outputcoupler7819 I agree ,colossus basically got outperformed by the rest of the 4 ships here and with Mariya and hyuga had absolute domination on it. It is very surprising to see how these 2 ships still had a lower repair cost then colossus when it performs poorly in battleship vs battleship combat I lost count on how many times I lol sunk British BBs with my first 2 salvos…(hyuga player here) Honestly the first thing they should do is the match making, just yesterday when I play a BB game ,I found my team was basically full of battleships and the other team was cruisers and they basically got raped by us. Though I love that feeling of complete domination, I still feel sorry on them as their desperate can already been seen in their ship movements. Apparently they think CAS will be the ans on destroying BB. Which from data they are right, all are very weak against planes,but in practice, the BB are usually got covered with cruisers (AI or player) which only need decent AA to destroy them.And BB can take some bomb hits and torpedo strikes if they need,I don’t see a reason on increasing the repair cost but they can’t be sunk unless your team got a BB or u got all of your teammates on planes and attack the BB…

So I was just thinking about maybe grinding naval now after finding your channel, and with the battle pass challenges playing naval for the first time then. Now, I see absolutely no point whatsoever to do that. WHY would I EVER want to play a vehicle with a >50,000sl repair cost? With a basic non-premium account, I barely break even in decent ground RB games in tanks with >15k repair cost. It actually blows my mind how Gaijin (Head office, not the devs since we know they have no say) could consciously choose 50k+ repair costs. This is advertised as a FREE TO PLAY GAME. You can't even play it for free. It's a fucking joke.
