We were very sad to learn that the mother-in-law of Ta’s cousin passed away during the week before we arrived in Phayao. We were unable to attend the funeral, but we were there when Grandma was collected from the crematorium.
Do you believe in ghosts? I didn’t until I started editing this video, now I’m not so sure!
Thanks so much for watching.

I am a Christian who believes in ghosts. There are many things we do not and are not meant to understand but your recording issue lends credence to the possibility that there is something to Ta's stance on the subject. Thank you for sharing and God Bless from Florida.

Thank you Brad and Ta for sharing. We've shared your experience with the death process of a family member when we were in Thailand. Not quite the same as far as their final resting place. Their cremains were put in an urn and placed in the family's jadee (stupa). Otherwise, very similar. Thank you again. 🙏😊🙏

Very interesting. Since my eldest son lives in Thailand I have requested that my ashes be sent there and placed in what I call the spirit house that will be on the land where they are building their house. Much more interesting than being buried under the ground and going through the expense of a funeral. I think that's morbid. Our loved ones live in the minds of those that loved them. I did request that a mango tree be planted near by (my favorite fruit) and that there is a "porch" light and tiny American flag flying beside the door. I want to be remembered with love and smiles, not mourning.

Thank you Brad and Ta for the interesting look into Thai culture. Death rituals around the world vary but are still somewhat similiar. I come from a completely non superstitious family. Even though we are practicing Christians we dont believe in heaven or hell , nor do we believe in ghosts or haunting. To us dead is just dead. We cease to exist. We have used cremation for 3 generations, because we refuse in enrich funeral directors that guilt trip grieving relatives into spending 10s of thousands of dollars on fancy caskets etc. On a personal note , my Mom chose cremation and a small memorial service and just simple cake and drinks after. When Dad got the ashes back he sprinkled them at the base of a big beautiful tree Mom had always liked. When Dad passes, he will be spread in the mtns and some in the desert. Here in Montana a simple cremation is as high as 5 or 6 thousand dollars. Out in Oregon for the same thing is 500 to 1000. Was a very interesting vid. Thanks guys ttyl ,, Marlon

As a Christian, what I believe in is the SPIRIT of the soul, which I do not consider a "ghost". The reason I say this is that when I was holding my wife, as she passed, her spirit passed thru my chest and out my back. For many days she watched over me, then I felt her "presence" at her sister's home 300 miles away from where I live. So, yes, I very much believe in the afterlife.

Our realtor found a "great" house for us, though it was located about 50 yards from a cemetery which was clearly visible from the house. My Thai wife thought the realtor was nuts for even considering such a thing. "How could people in the US build a house so close to a cemetery?" It creeped me out a little as well, but not nearly as much as it affected my wife. Yes, quite superstitious as a culture.
