You're the first person I've seen that tried the easy off on paint. I've only seen it done on wood, in almost every video I saw used the blue can. I've only been around for a month but the first vid I did was using Easy-Off on an old red oak table. I used the heavy-duty yellow can. It works really well! My husband did a quick sand over the top but it didn't do that good of a job because the stain was so deep and Easy-Off pulled it right up. If interested you can pop over and watch. I expected some red to come back through when I put stain on, but it didn't. The heavy duty must do some kind of deep penetrating bleaching or something.

Love how the natural wood warmed up the laundry room, since some laundry rooms can look to sterile & cold. Another incredible makeover, the sander certainly cuts the time, but dealing with a smaller work space, oven cleaner will do the job, just open the windows or do it outside. This came out looking so nice! I agree, I personally like to sand . I’ve used chemical strippers as well but messy is not what I want. I used to re-finish thrift store, Salvation Army finds so that is where I agree with you. I prefer sanding. The room looks gorgeous! Your colors are som classy and soothing. Thanks you. Take care.

The room looks great so far! Love the trim work and the hooks. A shelf would be a practical option for additional storage because more cabinets may make it feel too closed in. I’m assuming you’ll come up with some art for the walls, as well, to really warm up the space. I agree with you regarding paint removal. I’m for sanding all the time, even though it’s tedious. I just think using chemical strippers is gross 🤢 😂 Looking forward to part 2

I hope you and your husband are recovering well and these days everything is covid my doctor said. I may need a drummel because I have few a few pieces in my home that is French Provincial from when my parents bought them in 1958 . It just amazing how well it has lasted including the finish although not perfect . As always you did a wonderful job on that piece and may it bring you lots of happiness

I found my Carbide Scraper quickly and safely scrapes the paint off the top layer of paint and thick finish. That way if you start with 60 or 80 you would be amazed at how easy that shortens the task. That piece was a lot of work. Good job. Love your channel. Kim in Niagara

Using "Easy Off" reminded me when we moved in many years ago to a rented unit. I need it to clean the oven so I sprayed and I did close the oven door and left it overnight. In the morning I nearly had a heart attack front of the oven the vinyl floor was bubbling up. I thought I have ruined the floor they going to make me pay for a new flooring but for my suprise under the bubbles which was dark grey horrid colour was a nice very light gray floor colour. All that bubble was the many years of dirt combined with some vax. I decided to sprayed the kitchen floor and I was able to peel off the dirty vax leaving me with incredible beautiful clean light gray vinyl floor. The realestate agent was so suprised and thankful how I made the place looking so much better. Lesson learned.🎉

I believe that shelves are a must for the utility room and potentially Gabriel can give a hand with the project 😁😊 lovely outcome for the furniture piece. I do enjoy more furniture stripper as i find it less messy and more effortless than the sanding with satisfactory results in detailing (higher and easier accuracy rates). I didn't know if to trust the oven cleaner hack but I will test it since I have one that I didn't use it. Thank you!🥰

Love the furniture makeover in whitewashed finish. The panels look great. I would not put shelving all around. It gathers dust and it can be tempting to put lots of stuff on them. I like simple and clean. I would also probably bump into the shelves.

I think it's almost always a good surprise when you sand an older wood piece back and rediscover what was actually there all that time. I'm a sander, not a stripper. Doesn't an orbital sander leave tiny circular scratches in the wood?

Hi Mary, no if you use it lightly and use the right grit sanding ie work your way up from ie 80 grit to fine 220 grit you can remove the swirl marks. ❤️🎨🙏

Steel wool is better to use than a wire brush As the wire brush will scratch your wood

I have a similar cabinet with a drawer on the top. Mine as a two wood veneer. I used stripper because I didn’t know any better. But it worked since I didn’t really have an orbital sander. I’m still debating a white washer darker wood finish.

Interesting video. I have just stripped a cabinet, very messy indeed. The piece is left very orangey. I will white wash it now, probably twice.

Sorry you got Covid 😢 I have used oven cleaner on a piece before and it worked great. There was only one layer of paint though so that may have helped. Love your videos so much!
