Upcycled Jeans - Tutorials - Tips For Selling - Slide Show - Ideas

If you have ever considered sewing to make money, you might want to consider creating upcycled jeans. My channel has lots of DIY video tutorials on how to create these lovely wearable art pieces. In this video, I answer some frequently asked questions about how to sell upcycled clothes online. I sold my creations for over a decade online and have lots of experience to pull from. I will even show you how to measure jeans...waist, inseam, hips and cuff. I will then show you a rack of current jean upcycles and link the videos. At the end, there will be a long slide show of many of the upcycled jeans I made and sold over time. Hopefully they will give you lots of ideas and inspiration. Enjoy!

This is going to sound “sappy” BUT, I retired to care for my elderly mom. I was the perfect candidate because I’m a “homebody”. It took a toll on me mentally & physically. She passed away at 96. Jannette, I share your feelings for Traci, her artistry, and her authenticity. OH! That doesn’t sound sappy at all. I hope you are blessed for being there for your mom when she needed you the most💝 I took care of my parents and my disabled brother. It took a toll on me mentally as well. It was the most difficult and rewarding thing ever. I dusted off my sewing machine in honor of my mom who taught us girls to sew. I never appreciated that gift until she was gone. I’m so grateful to have found Traci as inspiration. She is absolutely the best and I’m so thankful she loves to share her talents with all of us.

My aunt took care of my Granny for more than 10 years. Granny had Alzheimers. I can understand how exhausted you must be. And grieving a completely different ballgame for caregivers. I experienced that with my own Mom. And yes Traci is a blessing. Happy sewing!

Traci, I left an abusive husband 6 months ago with my daughter. We ran for our lives and left literally everything we owned behind. So we've had to start over completely. Wow! Your creations are amazing!!! You just popped up in my feed. My mom was an incredible seamstress & like you could damn near make/sew anything. I unfortunately did NOT inherit this talent (try as she might LOL), however I've scrolled through your channel & I'm thinking there are a few things I could probably do. I'm a very tiny woman (4'11) and it's so hard for me to find jeans (or pants for that matter) where I don't have to take off 15000 inches (I'm exaggerating of course) but you get my point and it costs me $20-30 dollars to get them just hemmed (jeans)!!! Not a seller, but theres always something to learn. So adore your videos you have such joyful engagement with the camera and teach wonderfully. Always a thrill when new videos come out. Hope you never tire of this. I was gifted a fancy brand basic sewing machine decades ago and never really engaged with it. Now retired after viewing your tutorials it’s time take notice honoring your passion and artistic inspiration and go for it. That first scissor cut might be the hardest. There are so many ways to be creative with fabric. Hoping you never tire of this and achieve all the YT top influencer rewards you can. Hoping too you might have some more ideas for men’s shirts, flannel shirts, sweaters, pieced tops hats, hoods, fingerless gloves in the future. They might seem appropriate for the multigenerational user wear and gives us the ability to reinvent our existing wardrobe into a patchwork of wearable one of a kind art. Appreciate and respect you and your amazing accomplishments.👏🏻

I absolutely love your style and your videos.... I actually bought a bunch of stuff to make a purse and jeans... But I haven't taken the leap yet, lol, I'm a little intimidated bc I haven't sewn in years, I have a sewing machine but hardly ever use it (it was given to my by my aunt when I started making primitive dolls) these days and haven't made clothes since Home Ec in middle school 😂 I'm so afraid I'll cut the jeans open and never get them closed properly! I'm also so afraid I'll break the needles or machine doing bags. I did buy the perfect bag and a bunch of belts and stuff to add... I just have to GO FOR IT, lol! My goal is this summer! Thank you so much for making all your tutorials available for anyone to do, especially since shut downs sent me for a loop losing my job and then my career (Healthcare is no longer an option with certain mandates in my state), so I'm finding having to go back to school at 50 😖😩 lol, and unemployment only goes so far these days. I do upcycling to make ends meet, so thank you again for everything you put on YT that's acceptable for all. I'm sure you could put these behind a pay wall and do very well. Please don't 😂😂 but I understand you very well could. Is there a reason you don't use women's jeans at all? If I wanted a tighter fit, especially in the bottom, lol, mine already disappears in baggy women's jeans, I'm afraid it's be worse in men's.

You can use whatever jeans you feel the best in. I like men's, because I like a more relaxed fit. I'm different in a way than you are, I want my rear-end to disappear lol! 🤣❤❤❤❤
