@@anniehackett4910 it probably would have been even cheaper to get a second Hand modern dress. Vintage ones are irreplaceable, so it's sad to see them go, when almost nothing of their charm is preserved and it's just another modern dress. Sure, it is also beautiful, but it was a unique piece of history and is gone forever now. And Vintage pieces are not really part of the problem of overconsumption and mass production of clothing nowadays, so it might be more environmentally friendly to upcycle modern (second Hand) pieces, which would be way more likely to land on landfills when nobody buys it. @@anniehackett4910 Vintage pieces this old is not the problem we have with overconsumption of textile. You destroy vintage pieces like these, they're gone forever, it's not something mass produced and would most likely not have gone to a landfill. From all that's been said, this dress was unlikely to find a home WITHOUT someone needing to revamp it (fabrics not aligning, being finsihed, and being dingy??)
