Upcycling Business Cards

I'm back with #junkuseitorloseit projects. In this video I upcycle old and out of date business cards.
Bottom line ..... I'm still keeping too much junk and I'm fed-up being surrounded by it. So once more, I am going to work on as many projects as I can trying to use up as much of the junk as I can .... after that I have to lose whatever I don't use. I haven't set a date yet though!

I have about 500 business cards for a company I no longer freelance for - some of them are trifold cards and it felt wrong to just recycle or burn them - so this is such a welcome tutorial, thank you!

So very, very happy you are doing the #junkuseitorloseit series again! I just put on my winter coat a few days ago and reached into the pocket and found some old business cards. I was going to toss them in my pile of papers to paint on. Loved your cards you've made so far & I can't wait to see that journal when you are done with it. It looks beautifully understated. I like the trifold idea. Also a book with folded cards stitched together, or entire cards together(one page each). I do not have cards to play with, but plenty of card stock that could be cut down. When you first showed your stack of cards, I thought you were making prompt cards...another option. Thanks

What a great idea! I kept all the cards dropped off from realtors when my house was for sale, I had quite a stack by the time it sold. I think I might be making some Christmas tags to use on gifts this year as well as some journal embellishments. Thanks Kylie, love these.

And then I started to keep everything for recycling into art projects where I could. Hi - thanks for watching and commenting. Yes they would fit in an altoids tin. I actually have a video on my channel where I alter a tin (it was slightly bigger than an altoids tin) and although I don't use business cards for the little journal I do put a little concertina type journal in it. I have an altoids tin sitting waiting to be altered at the moment so hopefully I'll do that soon and also have some more ideas for altered business cards. Thanks again :)

Thanks so much for watching and for the sub. Yes you could use white paint instead of gesso or indeed if you wanted to then you could use another colour or collage straight onto the cards. I just used the gesso as a starting point to cover up the info on the cards. Hope this helps. Enjoy altering the cards :)
