Update 122724 - Got a new house, took the Lambo and Ferrari out for a spin

Some people have said that I sound "ungrateful" and I should just "be thankful that I am alive". I didn't do anything wrong. I was minding my own business, sitting in a different building from my house, safe and sound, when a piece of faulty equipment burst into flames. My wife walked out of the house, safe and sound and we watched the firemen put out the fire. Sure, there are lots of things that COULD have happened, but we were safe. We could play the "what if" game all night. My insurance company (State Farm) will be compensated 100% for everything they spend by suing the company that made the piece of equipment. This equipment, by the way, had a known flaw, they knew these things were catching on fire and did nothing to warn their customers about it. They will be paying for it, trust me. I have been displaced from my home, my life, having all my possessions either destroyed or at least damaged, all my vintage furniture, my photos, paintings, artwork, guitars, autographs, equipment, everything.... ruined. I now have to go out and try to find replacements for me clothes, my records, everything I own because of the negligence of this company. Furthermore, I am being placed into this house for the next 6 or more months, not to mentioned I spent 3 months in another place because it took them this long to find this place. My comments about this house are more about the poor construction of how it was slapped together, none of the floor planks meet up, none of the fixtures are mounted correctly, they vinyl wrapped the counters, the fridge is crooked because of the poor flooring job... I could go on. My observations are there to remind me that I don't want this kind of work being done to my house. My house was hand built by a Swedish, Mormon man, who built his house for God, for his family, with pride. Everything was done with precision and quality and without compromise. It is the reason I bought that house. A house built for God and Family, not for profit. That is the quality I want. The illegal immigrants that have infiltrated this country in the last 20 years have ruined our construction industry, and really all of the labor industry. People working for less money for survival, not for pride or quality. They don't work for loyalty, for God and country, they work as slaves with deceit and hatred for their slave masters. They just need to make it look good enough to get paid. All of the new construction being done in America is a facade, stucco over OSB plywood, slapped together paper houses. Absolute dog shit. As for me being ungrateful and entitled, sure, I understand how lucky I am. I have the trifecta of luck, I am white, American, Male, Gen-X, home owner. I have every advantage that a human on Earth can have. I am grateful for that for sure and I acknowledge it. However, nothing was handed to me, I have worked my entire life since I was about 6 years old making my own money and paid for everything I have with my own money or my sweat. To have it taken away from me because of a company's greed and negligence and to be displaced and put in this situation that was not my fault, I am going to have some bitterness about it until it is resolved and I am made whole. Not only putting everything back, but compensated for my pain and suffering. In the meantime, I am going to deal with the situation as best as I can and make the best of what I am given to work with. But if you think that I am the type to take my cold porridge like Oliver Twist and say "thank you sir!" you got the wrong dude. The reason I am where I am today is because I make the extra effort to get what I want. Watch and take notes.

Maytag is awful now. They were bought out Whirlpool. The dryer takes 3-4 hours to dry towels, but it saves "energy.".

That Tub was so small & shallow. It would feel like trying to bath in a Puddle !! What a terrible flooring job. I'm surprised Pukka Bear hasn't gone up the stair to that kook in the wall & gotten to that long area over looking the front room. ( frame 10:18 ) I know my cats would be loving that spot !! While you have all that space in the house, you can have a party & invite all your friends !! :~)

I remember back in the 80s kit cars were all the rage. My work took me to Titusville Fl. (I lived on the Space Coast) and there was a guy building Prova Countach's and I would go to his shop all the time. One company was making Fiero based Lambo's but with a frame stretch and V8 swap. They looked as good as the Prova or Sienna Lambo's. I always wanted to build one and put a 3800SC in it. That sound of the supercharger is intense.

That flooring is some of the worst I have seen. I bought a couple of those pretzel tubs at town talk last month. They are really good if you warm them up in the air fryer. Glad he is doing. Well after the fire. We have 8 of them (daughters brought most of them home) and worrying about them is exhausting. We have older style auto litter boxes but would like a couple litter robots. And I'm glad I'm not the only one that buys extra fast food and warms it up for later meals since the better 3\4 is out of town so often.

Hi Bob , hope you get settled in the new year. We have big issues in the UK with big quotas for new build housing , sometimes destroying our green belt countryside. Much as the local residents objected to the local building, and how in will put undue pressure on general infrastructure, road network, pollution , schools , doctors / health amenities etc ; it got over ruled not even local politicians got quashed. , . Again the quality in new building housing is questionable to say the very least.

I live in Texas and have a coworker who rents a home for $3300 a month in the suburbs! It’s a much smaller home than this one and obviously not in such a fancy location. Bob lives near Las Vegas and it makes sense that the rent would be that much because “insane” is the new normal now. Also, people pay a premium to not live in an apartment complex where all of the crime and societal rot is concentrated. The best decision I ever made was to finally own a home. These days living in your own space is a luxury.

The Fiero/Ferrari reminded me of a Hospital Police officer that worked at The State Facility I worked at. He had 1. Took him a while to get it the proper Color of Red. Regarding that floor plan the two areas at the entry first is the formal living room and attached is the formal dining room. So the rooms kids must stay out of and that you only use on holidays and special parties/occasions. Then the other room with the second TV was sold as the family room.

Re: The litter box. I have a Litter Genie and it works very well. It's basically a Diaper Genie for cats. No smell, easy to clean up once every few weeks. If you can't afford the self-cleaning box, this is the next best thing.
