they're probably not calling it a forge because it's not a forge. A forge is for heating metal to make it pliable, this is an electroplating setup, which uses electricity to deposit a layer of metal on a surface. Hence the batteries and lightning and lack of fire.

The tarp wall thing is quite useful. I'm building a really high tower for the glider and whilst sections are logged up as rooms most of it is open at the sides. It's much quicker to use tarps and they make the tower look cool as well as stopping you accidentally falling out.

I’d love to see more decorations and furniture pieces get added in the game. My houses that I’ve built so far look pretty neat on the outside but they’re always so sad and empty on the inside :,) Hope they’ll add more

For cannibals like Henry, it would be really cool and funny if there was a small chance for them to get back up after being shot in the chest or head with a crossbow bolt or arrow and go into a berserk state where they just attack relentlessly, kinda like the WITNESS ME scene from Mad Max.

I think this is not the primary task. It is better to think about what to do after passing all the caves. The game essentially loses its meaning after that, but since this game is good, you have to invent your own quests. The developer needs to bring some meaning so that something can be farmed. And anyway, after the last patch, I noticed a bunch of bugs that weren't there before. It feels like the developers are doing them specifically to show the visibility of the work done in the update, because they always announce it. Of course, fixing intentional bugs is much easier than working with artificial intelligence from NPCs... As well as senseless lux like shaking objects in an open backpack.

i think one could theoretically make an electroplating machine with turtle shells. it would be nigh impossible to make a forge for smelting metals using turtle shells. maybe this is why they are calling it item plating structure and not a forge.

Maybe because it is pretty much exactly like a plating device (get metal in sollution and apply electricity to plate an item) and nothing like a forge (use fire in an oven for increased heat, usually to smelt metal)🙄

You know what would be cool? A cannibal type that has a small shield that it uses to block ranged attacks. And if endnight is feeling dynamic they could even make it so that they try to shield the parts of their body that are most commonly hit

its very useful to be able to drive with a moved building, lets say you need lots of rocks, but none at your base. build a fireplace, move it to your base and dismantle it.... same for sticks, fill your inventory, then build a bed and move it.

Something I wish they would add is a mutant that can swim. Or specificaly the blue puffy. I loved the shark puzzle in the rebreather cave since it actually made me think twice before jumping in. So why not make the blue puffy actually unique besides having more HP and damage. The player should also be able to use knifes in water so you can fight back. I can just imagine the panic of a mutant swimming after you in a dark cave.

Fire, yeah. I used poison arrows so infrequently in the forest and they felt underwhelming when I did. Felt cumbersome to make more in a fight

@7:33 The "Item Plating Structure" is a suitable name as its design is based upon the process of "Electroplating". That is how to plate chrome onto a bumper or exhaust pipe. One can also electroplate with gold onto something made of metal. (which is basically what it seems we are doing here)

Puffys are hard to deal with when they get moving, they're really fast . Sucks that they give no loot. No incentive to kill them, sorta silly.

@@daspidy You can so hopefully the reason for this change is because in the next update we will be able to craft rope or change the bone armor recipe so it is easier to craft.

@@daspidyyeah they still give bones, but bone armor isn't worth making given how expensive the recipe is. Puffys need to do less damage if they're going to give no real reward for dispatching them - totally unbalanced that they can stun lock you into a 3 hit attack.

I wish they added the noose trap of the forest to the game. I loved coming out of my base to find cannibals hanging upside down. Burying bodies would be cool as well since we have the shovel. More decorative items would be cool too.

Imo, if players need an "incentive" to fight enemies, the combat system needs to be reworked to be more fun. Especially in a game like this where combat is a big part of gameplay.

It's not a forge. It is for electroplating items. It's the process they use to chrome plate items IRL. Search for electroplating videos and you will understand. IRL there is just no lightning, or mutants.

I feel like solafite being a solid form of energy or some kind of super conductor would be cool. Like maybe if you decide to stay on the island at the end solafite tech is able to replace batteries kinda like the artefact in the original forest. But if the super conductor approach is taken maybe it can be like used on solar panels to charge a lot quicker or like overclock batteries.

I think they need to bring back weapon upgrades like in the forests. Adding poison and fire or more damage to some weapons. Being able to add fire to a spear would be great throw it into an enemy damaging them and setting them on fire

I would love them to add some more variability to enemies. Played for a weekend and cannibals kinda easy and predictable. I would love some proper scary stuff, dangerous and seemingly smart behavior. A fast wendigo in the mountains/ winter time. Having it stalk you, etc

The reason the gps shakes when you are holding it by itself comes down to human physiology. In order for the body to stay balanced in motion, your arms have to move back and forth to counteract leg movement. If you are holding something with one hand, the free hand will try to balance your body(subconcious function), thus causing your other hand to "shake". It's a cool detail in my opinion :)

For my frame rate limiter, when I turn off VSync, the frame rate goes to 30 when I stop the game, and the temperature of the graphic card drops a lot. Turn off vsync, maybe the problem of frame rate limiter will be solved for you Farket!💛🤙

Honestly, armor needs a rework. -The only armor worth getting is bone armor since it is easy to get, but also breaks decently fast which makes it fair. It still requires ropes and tape, but those can be farmed. -Stealth and hide armor are not worth getting at all. Hide armor is so weak and you don't get hide that often like bones and it's far worse. Stealth armor needs buffing to it's stealth, it would be great if you could go thru caves (by your own choice) using stealth. -Mutant armor just needs some little buffs. Nothing big.

The Sundowner magazine is under the GPS Red Laptop inside the security room in the food bunker. They’ve changed the name from Doris Day to Dallas Day. I found it funny but maybe that’s my age. They changed the date also. I think it fixes the timeline between the two games.

Solafite is in most caves mate. Not worth the hassle in some of the deep caves though but in the shovel rope gun gold armour and couple others you can find solafite.

trampoline stuck with the sled... damn it sucks... but if you make enough tarp floors in a line and jump on it with sled sometimes it accelerates you incredibly, so you can make sort of a launching ramp and throw youurself flying

You need to go into the Nvidia settings and select framerate for when the game is in the background to 20fps it saves power when tabed out and also it's generaly safer when recording videos because it's less likely to crash or stutter. Worthy to note that the difference between 4k and 1440p in terms of performance and temperature is insane on 3080 especially in this game. On my 1440 setup I get around 130fps on ultra while reaching maximum of 67 degrees. Meanwhile you are capped at 60fps on 4k while hitting 70 degrees...
