@Farket Give us zip-lines already. lol. On a serious note, for building purposes, have a place-able socket / sockets / snap point. So you can connect a wall, floor, ceiling to any socket that you have placed. For instance, placing a socket several units from another fixed edge, to being able to place a socket in the centre of the wall, floor or ceiling panel.

You did a lot better for your first time than most people I've seen. Minecraft is definently a lot more fun when you've got a group of friends all playing on the same world, but there's also something to be said about the vibe of the solo Minecraft experience too. The game definently relies on you having access to outside knowledge which is a bit to its deficit. Minecraft has a fantastic wiki though so you can use that to help, or rely on your daughters knowledge. You've probably learned by now but by the way, Endermen only attack you if you look them in the eyes or attack them first lol. They're way too strong for a player to take on without any equipment, I usually steer clear of them until I get diamond armor. If you're looking for a concrete objective though, there is a final boss you can defeat, and the Endermen are involved in the steps to reaching it. I hope you play this with your daughter!

honestly if you threw me in and i could pick up random rocks and stuff as items, i would think flowers would be items that i could pick up. i think it depends on how you introduce the player, like if youre making a tut maybe add flowers in it to have the player normalize flowers as non-pickables and if you want say a specific flower to be a item make it veryy different from "normal" flowers

FOR EVERYONE WHO RECIEVES THIS MESSAGE "il2cpp_init detour failed: It was not possible to find a compatible framework version." I HAVE THE SOLUTION. Open RedModManager and at the top it will say "main", "mods" & "mods creation". Make sure you are under "main" and at the bottom it will say "dotnet 6 is needed for loader to work". Don't change the sun's intensity, enable the camera/viewport auto exposure. As you can see once it got raining the light intensity changed, as well as when you were placing lights on the ground at 8:39, suggests that the engine you are using has at least some basic math for light intensity and color spaces. If set wrongly also the colors of the textures will be displayed wrongly. Its not a performance issue

I think the color is a good idea using flowers and I'm sure you will find other items that will work. Very excited for your updates, you will make a game we all enjoy! A survival building game for the people!! The half pieces is a great idea and I think SOTF. I hope you can manage all the little strange hiccups that must come with game developing. i started unreal a year ago sometimes i wanna give up but other time im doing thing's without youtube vids it feels so good now so just keep at it ill be watching BTW If you are using unreal in the blueprint of the wall actor goto eventgraph and add "set collision response to channel" to the event begin play node then in that node under channel click camera and that show let you bypass the camera with just that actor

Hey man, I love your videos and I trust in yıur game developing. I am just little bit concerned that you might tend to base off your game towards making the game very unlike sons of the forest. I believe in your work but don't forget to do what feels right instead of consiously or unconciously making your game far away from sons of the forest. Otherwise you will end up like Endnight (the forest producers, I am not sure about their name rn). Sorry for my bad english but I am sure you understand me. Please keep us updated

Make the game YOU want to make Farket. Of course take player suggestions when it makes sense. Otherwise you tend to get feature creep beyond the premises of your original vision. Not inherently a bad thing it just means your dev cycle tends to draw out more.

Keep the physics, if you like them! About the annoying things: you are absolutely right. Most players hate things, that just turn up the grind. Beeing able to just move things always brings me great joy. I also absolutely hate senseless tool durability. Especially when you dont spend resources to repair them...its just unnessecarry walking back to base to press a single button....
