As always, thank you Terry for sharing and explaining everything, so well. I’d also like to say that I’m so disappointed that they did not “throw us a bone” with the update…like perhaps the Split Alphabet…especially as it was on earlier machines. There is really nothing to get excited about unless you purchase the Upgrade!

I got my Brother Luminaire Update 4.01 through machine last night. I have fast update but the file is large and then a second update to install the movies/manual right after the 1st one installed. Wasn't expecting 2 updates or the time involved as I was sewing pillow for granddaughter to take home with her to MN.

Hi Terry, thank you for helping us . I installed 4.03 to usb and installed on xp2 successfully in minutes. Is it necessary to download 4.01?

Oh Boy I’ve been trying to download the 4.01 update and my machine has been stuck for over 4 hours. The first 3 bars have loaded and then the machine stopped. The machine warns “Do not turn off the machine.” I pressed pause being concerned the message will be burned into the screen. What should I do? Thank you.

If it is just downloading the file, NOT UPDATING, then you can stop and download the file to a clean USB stick. Make sure there are no other files on the stick. Turn off your Sewing Machine. Insert the USB stick with the file into your machine. Hold down the AUTOMATIC threader button and turn the machine on. Select Load and the Icon of the USB slot you are using. Do not interrupt this while the machine is Updating. When the Update is complete, turn your machine off. Remove the USB stick and turn the machine back on. Go to the settings pages with your stitch count and you should see the current Software version. If you are unsure, contact your Dealer.

If you are referring to the XP3 UPGRADE it is not free. You must purchase this from your Dealer.

Good afternoon Terry, after the update, my connection was not activated. Was this normal?

Do you own a Brother 300 series Scan N Cut? If you do, then you should have received an activation card with it. I have videos explaining the process of updating your account in Brother Canvas Workspace and how to activate My Connection on your machine.

If you installed the Update and didn’t get a message about the videos, you are good to go.
