My son was diagnosis with Leukemia A.L.L. when he was 4 1/2 year old. I had been on that road with my son, so I can feel what you 're going thru with your wife second diagnosis . Rick and Jan - so sorry to hear of this new development - as if there wasn’t enough to deal with. Please keep us updated and I will add her to my prayers. I’m sure she will be fine especially with your love and support. It is such a miracle to be able to work with the same doctors who helped her 30 yrs before - that is definitely good karma and I’m sure it makes her and you feel more at ease. I know it might not be of much help, however many women have been through this and are decades long survivors. My grandmother went through it in her 80s and did well for 10+ yrs before a stroke took her. Never a sign of the cancer coming back or showing up elsewhere. Back then (20 yrs ago) - she decided right away to have the breast removed and the doctors hadn’t suggested it yet in the conversation so she made their job very easy. She even inquired on removing the other side but they wanted her to wait until they could get a clear view in surgery and felt like the surgery time to do both was too much for her. Her strength was just tremendous - it was “well, these things happen and let’s just take care of it and move on”. A friend was diagnosed about 5 yrs ago, did the chemo (no side affects) and is still doing well, working and traveling her head off. They have made such tremendous strides with this disease. Jan, it sounds like you caught it early, you have been studying nursing so you know the facts, and you have God on your side, not to mention the love of a terrific guy who thinks the world of you. All will be well and your camera buddy will be back up and running before long. And Rick, after being sick for years, I have found that taking caring of others when I didn’t think I could put one foot in front of the other - was quite the surprise. You can do so much more than you think you can when a loved one needs you. It is like you develop a source of energy you didn’t know you could ever find again. I did it with my grandmother several times and my great uncle more recently. Again, God helps us find that strength and because we have such a deep love for those we love and want to protect - it seems we can just march on. Love, peace, and hugs to both of you and best wishes for a speedy recovery. PS - as many of us have said before - don’t worry about apologizing to us - just take care of yourselves. We aren’t going anywhere - we’ll be here when you get business taken care of and all is better in Rick and Jan land.

Oh goodness, that's a lot to take in! I'll definitely be praying for you both! My grandmother, God rest her soul, had breast cancer twice, once in each side. She had a mastectomy each time, and beat it both times. She was in her 60's when she had the cancers, and lived well into her 80's. Stay strong! You have a lot of people thinking of you both. ❤️

Hello Rick. So sorry to hear the shock news about Jan. I know it's a trying time for both of you but try and keep your chin up. it seems they have found the lump soon enough so a complete cure is high on the percentage list. My lady had the same problem 10years ago had the lump removed and also the lymph nodes on that side, Chemotherapy followed and she was given the all clear 5 years ago. On top of all this she has had a shoulder replacement, rheumatoid arthritis and this January 2018 has had a cancer removed from her bowel... and given the all clear again. So be positive my friend and look forward. to a great future together. Will be always thinking of you both. Ed.

Rick, I just found you a couple of days ago, since I also grow african violets. I've spent this time watching many of your videos and subscribed to your channel. Today, I watch this video and I'm so sorry for what you and your wife are going through. My dad had Parkinson's disease and my mom had breast cancer. You both seem like very strong people, and I'm glad you shared this with your "friends". I hope you continue to keep us posted as I'm sure you have many, many viewers who care.
